Thoughts on this burberry sportcoat?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...item=960140854 My size for Burberry and seems like a good price. Thoughts?

Looks to me like American-made Burberry, which is usually nothing special in terms of quality. Not a bad looking sportscoat, though, and it's certainly below retail. Any other takers?

Is that jacket made under license, or is it some other company cashing in on the Burberry name with the addition of an "s"? I've never seen that line before, only the London and Prorsum lines. Either way, it looks good and not a bad price.

that is what I was wondering about, the "s" on the end there. I've never seen a tag from them like that. I'm sure it's authentic but didn't know if it was as you guys were saying, an inferior line. Thanks for the responses.

Burberry was originally "Burberrys." The "s" was removed in the last few years. So, an article with a "Burberrys" tag is not of current or recent vintage.

p, then would your guess be that it's: a) at least a few years old b) licensed, newer coat, but not up to Burberry quality c) a fake (the guy has great feedback and a few different coats with the same "s" on the end tags, so I doubt it's fake.)

Could just be overstock that was locked away in storage for years, was recently found and liquidated. Or it could be fake, the seller himself could have been duped and is selling jackets with recently printed "vintage" Burberry tags. Who knows. Feedback can be good but from uninformed folks who just don't know better. I guess my point is caveat emptor. If the material and construction is actually up to snuff, it's a good price. Thing is you can't check for fused fronts and seam quality over the internet I'd write the seller and see what he has to say about it.

I would say "a" for sure. As for "b," I'm not sure if the US-made line is "licensed," per se (though it might be), but it's not up to the quality of the English (or European) products. I doubt it's a fake: anyone who went to the trouble of faking Burberry would choose a trendier item with the signature plaid, and probably not choose something as difficult to make as a sportscoat.

I emailed the seller, asking that I thought it was just Burberry (playing dumb), and he confirmed your thoughts... it is overstock for a couple years ago. I think I just might spring on it.
