What's your shipping experience? - Page 10

For some reason international shipping to the US (NYC) has been extremely delayed for me recently - anyone else experiencing this? I had a 50 day wait for a package from Spain....30 days for a sweater from France...Still waiting on a package shipped over a month ago from London... One package I shipped took about a month to arrive in London via USPS priority. Everything seems to be held up by customs in both directions, but it's difficult to pinpoint. Domestic shipping has been working as normal.

So question is, keep waiting and hoping or push for a refund?

Yes, fwiw. Sent a s/c from US to Switzerland and it completely disappeared. I ate the whole thing and refunded the buyer his money. I don't think that Swiss post is particularly inefficient or anything but it did happen to me

When you guys are shipping to the United Kingdom (from the US), do you usually ship via Priority Mail? I know that First-Class doesn't provide any tracking, and that Priority Mail provides tracking in the form of a Customs Number...? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Priority mail up to $250. Anything over, you are not covered by seller protection, so use Express mail which is signature required.

That's what I thought. Thanks, Spoopoker! The thing I dislike the most about sending stuff overseas is filling out the customs forms. Always a hassle.

Yeah but if you do it online you get a discount - and its super easy - I process international shipping with the forms in less than 3 minutes from Paypal. Seriously!

Anyone know how long it normally takes for a package to get to north america from overseas using the "registered airmail" method? Australia - Canada, for example.

Anyone know how much it is to send boots from Canada to Australia? I got quoted $100 Canadian dollars but that seems too much

A couple of questions: Has anyone shipped to Russia lately? I got message on one of my items on Ebay about shipping there and am a little hesitant to do so after reading this thread and seeing the USPS won't allow you to print postage online to Russia. What happens when someone refuses to take delivery and about how long does it take for the item to make it back? I marked it return to sender on the customs forms and sent it USPS Priority. I sent an item overseas and the buyer refused delivery because the customs fees made it prohibitively expensive. I allow returns so it is not a big deal but, he refused delivery to avoid having to pay customs and I assume return shipping fees. Am i going to get hit with any additional fees? Thanks in advance.

I only ship to countries that have a rep for delivering the mail and I'm pretty sure Russia is not on that list. Having said that, I recently sent a first class package to Germany and over a month later it hasn't arrived. The customs form number shows that it never left my local post office, but who knows?

Guys in Canada. Does it seem like the norm for the sellers to be adding about $10 to the actual postage cost to ship items to Canada from the US? I am not saying this is all sellers as most are very good. In your opionion does this seem fair?

that is very fair...usually the premium for people to ship from the US to any foreign country far exceeds $10, not to mention the time wasted standing in line at the post office.

stop your whining and move to the US if you don't like it

Not whining; just asking a question. I know that there is premium to ship to Canada. However what I stated was an average of $10 additional to the actual postage cost to the seller. I guess the same question can apply to shipments within the CONUS; do you as a seller add $10 to your actual shipping price to account for your time to pack and mail the package?
