Today - it being a reasonable spring day in London - I wore a pink button down oxford shirt with tan chinos and a navy blazer, but I was damned if I could pick a tie to go with it! Possibly I need to buy more ties, as almost all of mine are dark, rich colours. Instead I picked  my most colourful, flamboyant pocket square and went open necked.

I wish I had had a light pastel blue (poss linen) tie or perhaps tan/beige that reflected the chinos' colour.... but I'm still not sure.

There's lots of advice on picking suitable shirt/tie combinations but it seems to me that the whole dynamic changes when light-coloured trousers are added, especially with a dark jacket.

Can anyone help/advise me?
