Details, please Shen?

You'll have my vote too, assuming you're actually wearing that outside, otherwise it'll be Mimo for his 50C weather dedication.

I'm sorry, but I have to call a party foul on Shen's lovely tuxedo, a.k.a. dinner suit, which gets to the heart of the problem. There's no incongruity in wearing it out on a Friday night. And if he's wearing this before 5 p.m., I just can't even... biggrin.gif

I think he needs to be wearing morning dress (or a stroller) for it to qualify as F&@% Casual Friday.

mimo, since I spoke rather harshly to you above, I hope you'll accept this olive branch:

+1

Plus as we all know, a tuxedo is only semi-formal. A morning coat is the only way to win.

Well, my appearance in public was rather brief before I was in the confines of my friend's home. Mimo on the other hand rocked that three piece all day.

If we're truly pedantic, white tie and tails would work as well as a morning coat.

I did the same thing last week, I turned up at my friends house at 1.30 (after work) in the morning with whisky and a fez to join in a party, I thought it'd be fun to overdress for the occasion for a giggle. Warning: Drunken Blaggard! (Click to show)
My camera obviously doesn't work well at 4 in the morning, or maybe I was drunk...
Anyway, lovely dinner suit @Shen.

More of the usual from me, but restraining myself to a plain white, french-cuffed, spread collar shirt & linen square.
Going OTT with black suede shoes and a grey homburg, I have to admit the hat felt like overkill, maybe because I just don't like it that much, I would love to get a better one, @Tibor was wearing a beautifully shaped one the other day ( in one of his facebook posts, not sure if he posted it here)
Anyway, thanks for all your efforts folks, a couple more hours to get your entries in if you haven't already.

Agree TTO, the hat is a bit "groomsman" than formal, a black bowler would've been pretty cool but you could've also rocked your flat cap in fairness and still got away with it!

Tie bar functional only, not for flashy display.

Woven braces. Comfortable and gentlemanly.

This is a gentleman's modest formal watch. And modest formal cufflinks. No garish gold or sparkle here. Move along.

Navy wool, burgundy wool, Harrison's vs Drake's, England in harmony. With big fuck-off lapels. And a non-wool white PS, just a little peek mind. N.B. super-formal for me requires a symmetrical knot so no HW or FIH/DFIH coquetry here. No need for the hated FW, though: this meaty challis sits just nicely in a Pratt/Shelby.

Indoors for lunch. Shoes. No contrast laces here. Socks long, tasteful. Bresciani fil d'Ecosse.

Home time. Can I take my jacket off now?

I would like some votes this time, if it's not too much trouble.

Yes, i dressed like this for a company BBQ this afternoon. and the boss asked me why the f@*k was i dressed in a full suit? -"Non Casual friday".
only 30 degrees today, so not hot as mimo. but still hot for a 3-peice and in black. Hopefully Mrs peel approves of a sw&d guy wearing this on a casual day.

I should also say that variations on the black suit are "the standard" for corporate life in japan.

Looking great guys! I thought about wearing a dinner suits but decided to watch a soccer match instead of going to Mahler's Third. (We won in the last minutes so it was definitely the right choice.)

Anyway, unfortunately my camera and I have become separated and I don't think I'll be able to post pictures from it until Sunday. If TTO is kind enough to extend the deadline. Otherwise these will have to suffice:
