whatuknowaboutthat, Phooi stole what I was going to say (and still will ): Try some jeans with smaller, higher back pockets and a lower rise. A front rise of 10" or slightly less would be ideal at your height.
I was rereading the 5EP x SF project jean thread today. I want to say to any shorter guys looking for a new jean that this is one that I am very excited about. This jean will have a lower rise (similar to APC NS), smaller back pockets, no back pocket stitching, slim but not skinny, amazing denim, and straight leg. I can't wait for a final prototype but it sounds just about perfect...
I thought both APC NS and 5EP LDB had a front rise > 10" (10.5 - 11)? Isn't that a bit high for short guys?
In my opinion it is. The LDB in particular is probably a bad choice for short guys: its rear pockets are known to be large, and the rise is often criticized as generous (in the back, especially, if I remember correctly?).
