attractive & ergonomic computer desks?

Does anyone have suggestions of companies that make them? I've never much cared because my computer is off from the main living area in its own room, but I'm upgrading my monitor and the new one will not fit on the desk I have (either 24 or 27 inches). I figure I might as well get something half-way attractive that fits in to a contemporary setting. It does need to be ergonomic and functional though, in that order. I spend a ton of time working on the computer. One thing I love about my current desk is a huge keyboard/mouse tray and a cutaway for my feet. I probably wouldn't change it if it could fit a monitor larger than 22".

everyone prefers bespoke clothing so why not do the same with your furniture contact a local carpenter and see what he or she may be able to make for you.

I am also looking for something like this. I think having a large keyboard tray that will also accommodate a mouse is essential. I don't like the all glass desks because it's impossible to hide cables with them.

I have just learned that Lian Li now makes aluminum desks.

Lian Li has been making desks for a few years. Last I checked they had 2-3 models which were extremely well-designed for airflow and space efficiency but they were ridiculosly expensive.

They would look awesome in a concrete, steel and glass condo though

They wouldn't quite fit-in too my current environment though. And out of curiosity, how expensive?

Nice alternative to Pottery Barn Armoire which is overpriced imho.

I find most computer-desks to officy. They also display all the cords/peripherals/papers for everyone to see, which is messy. But the main pet peeve of mine with computer desks is that they don't prevent dust from gathering on everything.
Anyone likes to clean their computer desks? I don't, that is why I prefer somewhat traditional enclosure.

Froogle says they start at $1800. I do feel that the Lian Li designs are bit too pedestrian and "officey", not strikingly minimalist, which is what I prefer.

1800 dollars? Holy shit.
I have a desk at home that I (think) came from Office Depot but I can't remember. I have pictures somewhere if you want them; it's a light tan desk with gray metal legs almost in the shape of a half-circle.

May I suggest a cubicle for your home? You should join the office masses and have your dreams crushed like the rest of us

Anyone know of a computer desk that is basically a big hardwood top with legs and no drawers and no scalloping, just a nice finished simple design. I saw one when we were in SoHo at I believe Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel on clearance because of a nick in the side and I should have picked it up because I haven't seen one since.

That's the opposite of what I'm looking for. There's no way it could fit the size monitor I'm considering, which is why i need to find a new desk in the first place, not to mention it would be terribly uncomfortable to work at. There's no space for your legs and feet.

How about something like one of these, should hold a huge monitor and can put mouse/keyboard on the top. http://davidduncanantiques.1stdibs.c....php?id=121408

A few attractive desks:

swag legs desk

loop desk

two tops secretary

I-con desk

I think there was a version of the I-Con desk with a computer integrated in the structure (motherboard, hardisk, dvd...etc), hidden back connectivity for display and usb, wireless keyboard and mouse.
