thanks for all the comments on my fit, guys smile.gif

as for cross-posting to mc: the couple of times i've done that i've been greeted mostly with polite silence. which is totally fine. maybe those who are interested in cross-pollination could just collect links to fits they think the subset of curious mc-ers might like, and share at their discretion? i don't know. i also don't want to interlope in a thread i don't actively follow... shog[1].gif

Wellll if we have your approval devil.gif

Nothing too adventurous, but I just got the bomber and felt like sharing.

I don't like blue jeans with black shoes, especially not baller ones.

I get that.

I guess I thought the black on top and bottom evened things out a bit. Still learning.

Thanks.

I think it does work with the black on top. kind of classic look.

Atg, I think that the cuffs you seem to like do you and your outfits no favors. Sounds a bit harsher than I mean it to, but I think a clean hem would look better basically all the time. They don't sit on your shoes/boots or your body well, IMO. I think a slight taper, through thighs and from the knee down, would work well on you.

@Synthese, no problem. Cuffs and I have had a long and complicated relationship. Pants (especially jeans) have a way of never really sitting properly on my waist, and so even when I get my pants hemmed they ultimately end up slipping down and looking sloppy.

I see cuffs of all shapes and sizes these days--from the one giant cuff that some people can pull off to the pin roll to the short cuff--and it's still a part of my fit that I'm having trouble seeing from an objective perspective.

On the other hand, when I found out about slim and tapered jeans like the SLP and then discovered the magic of stacking . . . well, that was a game changer.

It's all still a foggy mess for me from the waist to the ankles (edit). Tops and shoes I think I'm getting the hang of.

So, where my closet stands at the moment is that the pants that are tapered get left long and the regular cut ones I still cuff.

I guess I fear looking too "neat" for lack of a better word if I hem them to the top of my shoes, especially if it means losing the original hem and just having it end clean.

But maybe it's worth bringing this pair in to the tailor.

Thanks for your critique. Totally helpful and not harsh at all.

This is very similar but better execution. I think NB don't work and OCBD might be too long.

That awkward pose does seem to work with that look.

*Also, the guys @ gentry always roll the fuck out of their pants, and it works for them. On anyone else it would look dumb.

I'm the CM curmudgeon who complained about a recent SWD fit getting way more thumbs than (I felt) it deserved.

I do get the above fit from @ghostface. No "change from within" needed, it's just very excellent.
