Maybe I'm being presumptuous, but it seems like you've created a rule for yourself, which would be typical of someone only versed in the CM side of things. Casual dress is much different and IMO more artful. Rules will get you in trouble. For example, the reason your fit doesn't work IMO is because it's a workwear type outfit and that brings to mind a tough guy who wouldn't bother with perfecting his jeans where they sit on the boots like that. He might cuff them or he might let them stack (my preference). But if you wore a different outfit with different boots that had a different connotation, some fussiness might be okay.

I was being facetious, I know what sort of rep the other side has satisfied.gif

FWIW, I see more CM guys trying out SWD than I see the other way around. You dudes need to be more adventurous and reciprocate.

Putting aside the question of whether SW&D or CM is harder to do well, I'm pretty sure that the median total value of the outfits posted in CM WAYWT is way higher than the median in this thread, which doesn't make it that weird that there are more CM posters trying out SW&D than the other way around.

Add to that the fact that while someone who wears suits daily will almost certainly find occasional use for a nice pair of jeans or other more SW&D-esque pieces, the same probably can't be said about buying yet another suit/jacket/tie/dresshirt or pair of dress shoes for someone in here.

That said, I just got a pair of Meermin double-monks for an upcoming wedding and I love them :inlove:

In a sense this is true, however CM is more than just suits and ties. Indeed, the majority of the stuff you see in WAYWRN is on the casual side. That is to say, sport coats, odd trousers, casual ties, etc. In other words, many people who post in CM have no more need to wear suits/ties than people here do. Yet they still dress CM.

Might be too polished (literally) for you guys, but in the spirit of good sportsmanship, here is this...

It's only the combination of the two. Cuffs alone would be fine, and folded down boots can be fine. Otherwise the fit is solid.

You guys look great. And I think it's funny to see the clear umbrella that Lorcan7 has. I'm gonna guess that came from a Lawson's or Family Mart. You just don't see clear umbrellas back home and when I realized that they are most often clear so people can see while riding their bikes in the rain it was a beautiful moment.

Happy to have the cooler weather here. Took a lovely trip to Killington, VT and busted out the new Harnden and the old m_morias.

Bonus pic of some very tall dudes from New Jersey who had been drinking since breakfast (it was 6pm) who just ambled over and wanted to get in on the "shoot".
