NN let me know if or when you figure out how to wear a vest and shorts like that without totally failing - I have a similar geller piece and can't figure it out.

what frustrates me is i like the idea of a casual functional vest, but nn's doesn't really work and I can't articulate why

I totally agree with this. I just bought a bucket hat as well and realized that it can make your forehead look ginormous if it's too high up that way, especially if all your hair is under the hat.

Yeah, thanks for the input to everyone who mentioned something .. just tryin' to solve summertime problems. People like Ivrii and C4est make hotter weather look so much better than I do, but I don't have the patience for most clothing when it's nice out. If I'm outside sweating on a day off, I don't wanna be in anything but shorts and a t-shirt.

Just a thought, but I don't think the white GATs work in your fits. Just seem so out of place. Usually, I like what you put together and then see the GATs and it just jars with the rest.

I pretty much refuse to wear anything but laceless low-tops in the summer time, just an area where practicality trumps fashion. I mean, in the fit above, I'm basically wearing a t-shirt, pajama pants, and slip-ons - feels good, man. I've got a pair of these Nikes in the gray color, but probably a bit more jarring than the GATs. Also just picked up a pair of Olukai sandals, but I'll bet they'll get an even worse reaction haha. I don't even know what other footwear would save the fit.. I used to own Rick trainers, loved 'em but I felt stupid walking around all day in them when my feet were tired.

I don't have a lot of patience for anything beyond comfy, functional clothing lately and I've been paring my wardrobe down the bare minimum, which is maybe why my fits have been regressing over the past couple years. Still, I'm a lot happier enjoying the fun pieces I do keep and not fussing over clothing.

I can understand that.

So, perhaps, the problem isn't GATs per se but rather the color..maybe checkout some of the blue/black/grey colorways. White is tough.
