The What Are You Wearing Today (WAYWT) Discussion Thread, Part II - Page 151

I remember the first time I tried on a truely italian unstructured jacket a couple years back it really was a revelation. I couldn't fathom how well it fit (was at shop the finest with Ian). When i was putting it on I was thinking no way is this going to fit my big drop, it's going to be restrictive etc but damn when i put it on it was miraculous. Made every raf and margiela jacket I ever tried on fit like garbage freal.

lol. everyone should buy everything from NMWA all of the time. but that is not a regis jacket at all imo. he needs more drapey relaxed stuff. NMWA has it, but i dont see that SC for him. maybe that cool blue OS jacket.

OS stuff is too structured, it's very traditional english styling. cantarelli will drape better. it's hard to visualize it from the website shots - they're on a model and they're clearly an intentionally snug fit - but think something like these boglioli showroom shots:

look at the dude on the far right. killing it. swap out those pleated pants for some slim MMM ones and the MMM hidden belt, and blamo. look at that patch breast pocket, so fucking BARCHETTA bro.

I have a metallic sheen gray Boglioli suit. It's a silk blend. I've only worn it once indoors briefly, but damn I should probably try to wear it more often. Picked it up from Spence or one of those Italian outlet sites for cheap.

the suiting can be tough because the pant fits can be so wonky. some of the brands will have ULTRA-slim pants with an 8" rise, others will have wider cut, more classic trousers.

that image came to him in a dream when he was an infant, and since then he's forever aspired to dress in its likeness

It's an illustration of a fit of mine from earlier in the year:

A talented lass from reddit's /r/sketchdaily subreddit drew it as part of a daily challenge where they drew outfits from users on /r/malefashionadvice. Was dead chuffed with it.

Reminds me of "he wore it" by john woo minus the watercolour.
Excellent stuff

I actually think this is my favorite look from you and personally disagree with Teger I've always thought the MMM fit the vibe your going for. Even though I don't know how you wear a suit where you live. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Just for closure:

I thank you guys for your recommendations but truth is I am not interested in anything else. I've always been honest enough to say the last thing I care about when it comes to Margiela is the quality. I may try on these finer suits and not like them at all or what I expect is the case I will say "eh this doesn't feel that different". I don't need suits and I hope I never have to wear one, you guys can keep the better quality and all that I'll stick to Margiela. Comfort, fun, and wearing the brand that makes me feel like a million bucks...thats all I care about

I do have "designed" pieces, but again the thing about Margiela that I like the most are the simple pieces with small "why didn't I think of that" details. You can imagine how much use a hand knit shawl collar sweater is in S. Florida or the islands
