In years of posting on Internet forums, this is one of the harshest I've encountered. But no bother.

I think tapering would ruin the style of the suit overall, and actually the full-cut leg was one of the things that drew me to this suit because slimmer trousers never seem to hang/drape right for me. So tapering is probably out, but I'm still on the fence about whether I should let the pants out to get more of a break. I'm trying to find photos of YSL suits of this style worn back in the day but not having much luck. Even product shots would be cool just to see how they were styled. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome.

Thanks, so long hair doesn't work well for me unfortunately. I tried growing out to 70s-length a couple years ago but I ended up with a side part that accentuated my hairline in a bad way. My hair seems to work a lot better when the sides are kept tight. I am almost ready to get new glasses though, and I've been thinking about black frames this time around. The Jarvis Cocker look is probably a little too extreme but I may check out some chunkier frames and see if they work for me at all. At the least, I'll get the same ones I have now but in black and that should contribute to the look a little bit.

Shoe-wise, some black chelseas would work, right? I've always wanted a pair of those but have never been able to figure out how to work them in with what I've got.

My only hesitation on the pants is I'm just not sure the full break is the right way to go. A bunch of you are saying this, but does someone want to back this up with photos or reasoning? I have these other cotton/linen pants I bought recently that are probably just "too long" but this should give some idea of what the full break might look like and I'm not entirely sold on it. What do you guys think? (yeah, yeah, I know you hate loafers...)

I prefer the sloppiness of a full break but I think it needs that gentle flare Parker suggested to truly shine. That being said, a long enough full-cut straight leg often looks flared anyway so....
