There's a Japanese 'look' that I don't know the name of (someone inform me please) that heavily features Yaeca, Margaret Howell, New Balance, Paraboot, Universal products, and other similar brands. pretty much what I'm aiming for right now.

upgraded muji basically

Parker, how is the sandro ma-1? Looks reasonably unpuffy.

it's nice. yeah it's insulated but not super thick. it's got YKK hardware, nice quality fabric and elastic too. size runs pretty slim, I went w medium and it's borderline small on me.

Sandro is kinda middle of the road luxe. I get the impression they are sort of the Banana Republic of France.

meant to also mention I like that suit on @Jabonator . Margiela cut and color looks really good. Is that the H&M version? how is the material?

Who is IE making linen tees?

IE by Erik Ohrstrom. Small brand, I don't know of anyone who stocks online except for LayersLondon and hide-m. Very unfortunate because it all looks very nice :(

A bit late but I think blazers with padded shoulders on skinnier people looks absolutely amazing.

Spacepope, been said so much before, but huge fan of all your fits. Even when I'm not 100% into them (which is not the case with this one, it's fantastic), they're always highlighting some really interesting items. Cheers for rocking out there stuff and sharing it here. I love those cotton/ramie IE pants so much, but I know they're too skinny too look good on me.

RE: Yaeca. It's part of that 1LDK/New Balance/Muji sphere of simple, comfortable, basic clothing. Solargarden did a fantastic job with it. It's popular over here with the set who like to instagram coffee, bake bread, and pay $40 for an important issue of Kinfolk. I don't know if there's a particular name for the style. Their button-down shirts in particular are a huge hit lately - they have a really clean fit and side pockets

Solar is always interesting, i enjoy his fits but I never get the excitement. Altho I do understand that there is that whole look floating around esp in japan, i think in general its not my cup of tea. Still its always interesting. Im sure one of these itll click in my head :)

Honestly I think you'd be surprised, the fit on IE pants is borderline magical to me, but then again I'm sure you have much higher standards when it comes to looking good. Trick someone into stocking it in Japan or selling pairs secondhand ;p

It's little things:

  • The richness/saturation of those shades of blue
  • The orange hair and the glasses
  • Blue/tan is a very common combination, but the addition of the black boots just somehow works in an unexpected way
