A couple of Purdeys and a flat cap and you're good to go.

I wore this to teach in the Bronx.  A Purdey may not be inappropriate.  This is the second time someone has recommended that I get a flat cap.  It may have been you.  Anyone have any recommendations for a flat cap?

I would recommend a visit to a hat shop with a good selection of caps to try on. Hats/caps are tricky fitting in that a fraction of an inch here or there can make a real difference in the look and overall compatibility with your facial structure.

Here are two excellent shops with extensive inventories in NYC. The prices at Bencraft tend to be a bit lower than the prices at JJ Hatters but it's worth it to visit both.

First time posting in the thread. I've been a huge fan of many posts on here and have drawn a lot of inspiration from you all so I thought it was time to knuckle up and post something.

Currently the weather has been beautiful and golden in New Zealand hence something a little more casual, unstructured and youthful. Apologies if the quality is lacking this was off an iPad.

Went to a wedding tonight. My wife wanted me to match my tie to her dress, I got her to settle for the pocket square (we're adorable). I mentioned in the TWAT the other night that I found my 'Grail' watch but I'm not sure that it's worth $20K more than my Seiko...

One of my friends is an artist.  Tonight was one of his studio open houses.  Art always looks better in person that it does in photographs.  This is even more true of three dimensional art, like sculpture, pottery, furniture, textiles, and other things.  When I used to work for the Metropolitan Museum Of Art the pictures in the catalogs never looked as good as the actual exhibits, even though the Met used to best photographers available under ideal lighting.

I am always impressed by the people who take the time and trouble to take pictures and post them here.  I know that, like all art, they all look much better in person than they do in pictures, which are often not taken under the best of circumstances.  For some reason that I can't figure out, some people post bizarre comments about some pictures that some people post, possibly without realizing how much better everyone looks in person.

Brooks Brothers silk glen plaid tweed jacket and blue OCBD, Land's End paisley tie, Squarextraordinaire paisley pocket square, old (55%-45% made in Scotland) Viyella sweater vest, L L. Bean cord trousers, and Allen Edmonds brown grain Kiowas....
