Welcome. Jacket looks a bit snug, and maybe find a less cluttered bathroom for your next selfie? smile.gif

No, let's have a recap. This all started because you complained about not getting enough thumbs, comparing yourself with Elio and asking why he got more than you. I merely answered your question, and explained why. 1) he was wearing a suit that's cut in a way that's very popular on SF 2) he was wearing a particular awesome tie 3) his picture quality was much better.
I also said that it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your suit, and that I quite like the British style, except for the lapels. It's simply not a popular cut on SF at the moment, but who cares?

That's exactly what happened. For some strange reason you're getting all defensive, while I merely answered your question, and even gave you a compliment for getting a British suit. I bear you no ill will, but I do think you overreacted a little. Anyways, enjoy your bespoke Cad & The Dandy suit, and wear it in good health.

I apologise for the sarcasm, but your post came across as both patronising and mistaken - I'll grant that you may not have intended either.

But you are still mistaken. I never 'complained about not getting enough thumbs'. This isn't a competition (at least not for me). The issue didn't start here and on this occasion, I was adding my contribution to a debate involving PCK1 and Sugarbutch and others that was already going on, because I'm interested in how people judge 'style' and whether they actually know (or understand) what they are looking at. I used my own fit and EliodA's as examples in this debate because they happened to be on the same page and posted around the same time and had some obvious similarities in the objective quality of the fits (shoes aside...) but major differences in presentation and yes, subjective qualities. We could take other comparisons. But the point was about how we understand what we see, not about 'which is best'. Like AAS, I'd rather we had more open and knowledgeable critique of style here.

I hope that lays to rest any misunderstanding.

PS: send me the yellow pants and I will wrap them around my boots when I burn them! ;)

Trousers need to be taken up slightly but otherwise I'm happy with this.

Funny to see how my utter laziness in writing captions for my fit posts has now been taken up by others. 'XFC', my contribution to SF. wink.gif
Nice fit as always, @Gerry Nelson

Have your tailor re-cut these trousers, I'm pretty sure he could make two pairs out of them.

Tell me. Are you a nice man, or an ice-man?

Errrr ... Both?

You decide!biggrin.gif

In this case, I'll be the first to admit that whether he's nice or ice, ianiceman is not wrong.  These are the fullest-cut trousers I own, and this is after I had the legs tapered and cuffed.  Still tons of room in the seat and thighs.  These were bought NOS from a seller who got them from Venanzi's closing sale.  I'm not sure I'm ready to spend what a competent tailor would want for these, so they might be finding their way out of my rotation unless/until I find a tailor who can get them to fit better.
