I feel like the shirt resolves to a color that is too dark for proper contrast between the jacket and tie. This could just be how the photo is rendering on my screen.

I like when you dial it back a tad. You do this level better than some of your louder stuff ATM. I've found it easier to step into bolder patterns and styles once I've pulled together a good consistent sedate-ish look. With those same items. For example you can try swapping the tie and see what that adds or subtracts. You may begin to get a better feel for when you are "pushing it" too far.

Tighten your tie up!

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the tie, that particular tie doesn't "hitch" very well - the material is very springy and it's hard to get a tight knot. I tossed up between that tie and a Conrad Wu chocolate shantung, which in retrospect would have been the better choice. Overall though I was happy with today's outfit.

Is it a DFIH, Cox? That seems to be your default knot. Generally, I wish you'd use a standard FIH.

I'm still trying to get a better color/angle for posting pictures. Here might be a better representation

jk, that is awful. Sorry.

To elaborate, the shirt is bad, and the tie is bad. What's more, they aren't paired well. There is simply too little difference between the shirt and the tie both in color and contrast. It literally looks like a mess underneath your jacket.

Generally if I am going to wear a "bad" item, I limit it to a single thing, and I try to make sure the rest of my stuff is on point.

I do like your tie knot/dimple.

Sorry, but I am in the no bueno on this tie-shirt-bedspread craziness. In the 70s? Sure.

Your HSM jackets look big to me. Have you ever tried the next size down, or thought about slimming thru the body?

This jacket definitely needs some slimming down. It's just been difficult. I lost a significant amount of weight and so trying to get things that fit and look right in the process. That's a 38 short and there is no way I would fit any smaller but I need the body taken in for sure.
