Your fits are usually stellar MR so when u hit a bum note ... ouch!

The whole doesn't gel IMO .  Top half is wrastling the bottom for formal v casual supremacy; shoes and trew color need more contrast; jacket looks orphaned; collar needs roll; red-purple tie-PS combo is :plain:

These were taken this morning before I headed out for work. I might need to tone down the blue for those evening shots.

:-) thanks for the critique my man.

In all reality, this outfit was only just something I quickly threw on to showcase the tie when I got home after buying it (a test outfit, if you will).

What I actually wore yesterday was the bottom plus my long sleeve white Eidos polo.

I'd most likely have put on suede loafs if I were to wear something like this again (in public).

As I said, your fits (and your pics too) rok like crazy on a regular basis.  Shows the diff between a thought-out fit and one that's thrown together in a moment.

Good look, Elio. Lol, "STFU"

Thanks my man! I thought you might like the matchy-matchiness of the tie. smile.gif
Completely agree with your point re. Don's lapels btw.

Thanks RTC, it's a Marinella.

@FlyingMonkey, I'd love that fit if only the lapels on your jacket weren't so narrow. The tie is absolutely gorgeous, though.

It's been noted before about this jacket - which was modeled on a jacket my Dad had made in 1965 (it's ventless too, which offends some people's sensibilities, although with less reason). I'll probably be wearing it less now I have a couple of other blue blazers, but I like the fabric and darker shade of this one.

On the tie, I have 5 vintage 1960s Brooks Brothers repp ties which are all equally great - and unusually they are all short enough for me.

Happy first day of fall.  It was a lovely crisp fall day in NYC.  Decided to break out the camel hair.

That's awesome! It's similar to this one I just picked up (#4). Grenadine right? Hah!

And yet it got twenty thumbs???

I'm assuming the thumbs were because he seems like a nice fella and hasn't posted in a while, and not for the quality of the tailoring, which has once again failed to account for his dropped right shoulder, so everything looks off balance and asymmetrical.

It would have been awesome, but he wasn't... the closest he got to being a tailor was having an account with Gieves & Hawkes.
