Wait a minute.  This is not London.  If I'm not mistaken this is the Highline in Chelsea i.e. in Manhattan.  I like that shirt much better under a jacket.  It looks rather extreme by itself.  The pants and lady look nice.

Thank you! Your eyes are not deceiving you. I'm in NYC for a month for work!

I was planning on wearing it with a jacket, but the weather was much too hot and humid. We still had lovely day though.

Alright guys, I actually had some time to try and take a halfway decent picture today (i.e. no bathroom selfie as per usual). I will endeavor to always post a picture like this from now on, as opposed to selfies haha. I took advantage of the relatively chilly and rainy weather today to try some fall textures, like @upr_crust . Fantastic fit by the way, sir.

Trousers are a chocolate brown flannel. Cheers guys.

Picture quality is reasonable but lighting not ideal - casts shadows and mutes the contrasts.

Overall a great fit, could be lifted even further with mid to light grey trousers. I might have avoided the button-down collar, but shirt colour is perfect. I wonder how this would look with the collar buttons left undone.

I like the general idea of this. The jacket seems to fit you well in the waist, but the shoulders are too big hence the collar gap. The sleeves are also short. The jacket looks amazing by the way. I'd rock it in a minute. I also think a lighter square would be better. Everything else is cool.

The suit looks outstanding on you.  I guess the sleeves could be a tad shorter, but whatever.  Shoes are beautiful.  I love the monochrome nature on the pants, socks and shoes.  It looks ok, but I'm not crazy about the shirt, tie, and square combo with this.  Maybe too dark.  Not sure.  Overall a great look though.

Accessorizing this suit will be a challenge - what I chose for tie and PS was the best of a bad lot. It would appear that either a more thorough rummage of my tie racks, or a shopping spree is in order.

Outstanding, @upr_crust!

Thank you, and thanks EdwardtheFirst.

Longshanks- if I may call u that - my opinion, FWIW, and I mean it constructively, is that there's too much going on here. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Dial it back some, and then dial it back a little more.

A Db SC on its own is FU even in a solid. I ask you- how often do u see a guy strolling down the street in a DB sports jacket? True- Not often. Maybe 1 Db for every 10 Sb SCs, and even those aren't common. But throw in an orange tie + red square and you've got 3 FU items in one fit. That's 2 too many.
(Caveat: If u identify as a full-on Dandy, go for it, but know that Dandy is what this is. Also know that AAS and Cox who gave u advice above are also towards the Dandyish end of the spectrum, to my mind. You wouldn't deny it would u AAS? And no offence either, guys, I'm not saying it's a bad thing.

One other thing too, although I'm not entirely sure about this given the lighting: The pants and SC need more contrast.

Matter of opinion I guess; I rather like the polo by itself!

The picture lighting is something I will certainly work on, thank you for pointing it out.

I didn't particularly like the look texture-wise with my only current pair of grey trousers (worsted), though that could be just me. My next order from Luxire will be a pair of light grey flannels, and I agree that those would look better. Spoilered below is a pic with the collar buttons undone. I think next time I will opt for a light blue spread.

The sleeves are about 1/4" too short. I need to have them let out. I rather think the shoulder/collar gap issue is a combination of my pose, and the fact that this jacket is a 80s/90s era Polo Ralph Lauren and has rather herculean shoulders haha. In the spoilered pic below you can see the fit a bit better I believe, and I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts after having seen the new pic. I agree on the square.

By all means, call me Longshanks. I am the same height (6' 2") IRL as my SF namesake, so it works. I certainly agree overall with your statements... I am not a dandy. I'm certainly less conservative than some, but I try to remain well within the realms of good taste at all times. I would very much like to try another go at this jacket. Tomorrow I will post a fit with a light blue spread collar shirt, light grey trousers, and a tv fold, and see how that looks. What tie do you (or anyone reading this) think would go best with that ensemble?

Gentlemen, thank you all for your advice and compliments. Cheers.

Monkeyface,

That's super cool.

Arnathor,

Happy birthday! I'm jealous of your beverage.

Edward I,

It's a good first post here. I agree with the calls for more contrast between jacket and trousers, plus a lighter square, and while I like the very American shirt in this context, the PTBs aren't quite perfect. Spoo has made shell PTBs work with a slick, dandyish odd jacket rig, but I'm not sure how.

Chocsosa,

Though I think a wider ankle and a less-pointy shoe might do you some favors in general, it kind of works for me here.

I wore this with tan wingtip bals and charcoal gray trousers today. Sorry the combination is boring and there's not much to say about fit from this angle, but feedback is invited.

Thank you, sir. The PTBs were partially out of convenience due to some highly unexpected rainfall here. Out of curiosity, what shoes would have been your first choice?

Nice fit, btw.

. Solid silk knit would be perfect IMO, burgundy or navy, say, depending on the color of your shoes + no square, or maybe linen or plain ivory silk jammed in there. Be a cool look.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what shoes I'd wear with that. Either loafers or bals, maybe monks. Something less sensible, since it's not really a sensible jacket.
