Perhaps you should get out of edmorels pants.

Cross-post from Friday Challenge.  95% of my shirt collars (and probably 98% of those on good fits on SF) are semi-spread or spread collars if they aren't button-downs.  The major rule I'm breaking here is wearing a point collar, on a shirt I've had for about eight years now that I can't abandon for sentimental reasons.  Also breaking a rule about tie proportionality by wearing a vintage skinny unlined Macclesfield.

Sorry for the horrendous light in the spoiled pic; daylight was fading by the time I took pics.

Nick your fits are constantly spot on, not necessarily because its great clothing that fits well (which it obviously is) but because you live in your clothing. That extra something that you have over others on the forum, is you beat your stuff up and "wear without care"... it is just clothing after all.

You look comfortable and as if the fabric is a second skin, instead of clothing. Always awesome to see icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I've been thinking recently that I've got too many trews with side adjusters no belt, so not so great with SCs, but this looks great EFV IMO.   And almost SW&D

I've seen plenty of italian suits and just like everywhere some have thin and some don't, it's really personnel preference, obviously it does depend on your size.

That said the majority on here are fine and wouldn't consider them to be large lapels just standard which I do like, but there are some on here that just look way to big.

Also it depends on what people consider thin as I've seen some lapels that are so thin they look just as bad as large lapels.  I would think age is another thing to consider, a 50 year old man with a skinny looking suit would look strange compared to someone who was 20.

+1

I wonder how Foo thinks about these now. AFAIK he had them made up at the peak of his Neapolitan crush.

Exhibit A

..  or u might need them because you're sporting aircraft carrier shoulders

Exhibit B

There's  pics of his Ralphness in wider than this but I can't find any online :paranoia:

I've been trying to stick to moderate in everything for longevity's sake.  I'm average height, 40" chest-  quite a bit taller than RL, whose lapels appear to be around 6" here.

With a high gorge I think about 4" is right in the sweet spot for me.
