The office needed guarding today...
Thanks Bill--this one is a SuSu that I picked up from TweedyProf.^Is that one of your Samuelsohn jackets? I'm digging the color.
Tibor, I admire your fits and you've clearly spent a lot of time sourcing and tailoring your clothes considering the rarity of such items and, if I recall correctly, the fact that you're not a very big/tall person, much like myself.
Whenever I see your pictures, however, I'm a bit in the dark as to the type of feedback to give, if you're looking for any at all. I'm not familiar enough with the clothing of the time period you're emulating so I would only be able to apply a more current rubric. I guess what I'm saying is it would be cool (to me, anyway) if you would consider giving a little bit more background when you post photos: how things are supposed to fit, what was considered the popular style at the time for ties, lapels, shoulders, etc. Maybe you could even critique your own fits for a while to get me (us?) up to speed?
I'd find that really cool, and then I would know whether I should say "the hat looks too tall for your face" or if that's part of the look

Stripes in school colors.
^ Very nice, SB! Except for the shoes, they're much too casual and chunky for such a refined and elegant fit, IMO.
Burgundy – with the warm tones of the coat, and the red overcheck? Beautiful. And I agree with the stealth edit you did on the hank, too, though cream might beat gray (I'm thinking in warm tones, you're thinking in cool ones). Actually, if the tie were a hank it would be perfect here (I don't subscribe to the advice against neat-printed squares).
They are black longwings. Thanks for the pointers and compliments!Burgundy – with the warm tones of the coat, and the red overcheck? Beautiful. @Koala-T
Are the shoes dark brown, or black? I can see how the color scheme there is "city" enough that you might go for black, but the unpressed trou and the pronounced pattern in the jacket would lead me to brown shoes. It's a nice rig, though: the coat is gorgeous, and the pants look pretty good – the same cut and length with a crease might do you even more favors. You're improving way faster than I did.
