Thanks Nathan... they are an oxblood dark brown color not black..black could work in my mind.. but this combo is easier to pull off in my opinion.. hope this helps!

Steed
Proper Cloth
HN White
Drakes
Panta

Good outfit, but I think this jacket calls for higher-rise pants.

I have discussed this briefly with @UrbanComposition so he might add 2c too.

My findings is that dark brown cordovan, #8 Cordovan and black works best. I have tried polo suede which wasnt great. Brown suede works quite well. I will probably wear my suit mostly with white shirt, brown or black grenadine tie and dark brown or black shoes.

The weather is reverting to summer temperatures and humidity today, at least for the day, and I've got a members' reception at the Modern to attend this evening, so this is today's rig - light enough to handle the heat, and outre enough to handle the crowds at MoMA.

Jacket - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Shirt & trousers - BB
PS - RLPL
Shoes - Paul Stuart (C & J)

Indigo and maroon today. Only a few peak lapels in the wardrobe. Will have to revert to linen if temps keep going up.

Suit: RLBL

Tie: Bigi

Impeccable as always. Good call on the purple sport coat!

I like it when smitty tones down the ties.

Hard to tell how it fits in the pictures, but it doesn't look bad at all. Sleeves might need to be lengthened just a touch, and I'm not a huge fan of hard 3 button jackets, but the fit seems to be fairly good. Wear it without worries.

Hi guys. I took my fathers old (but in very good condition) Caruso suit to the tailor. Here is the result after some alterations. I really like the fabric. The colour is hard to define. A mix between blue/gray/brown with a very subtle brown check. It's also quite smooth. I intended to use it for business and semi formal occasions, which is department where I am lacking at the moment. But I am not 100% convinced. It looks a bit different than my other suits. Maybe the cut is a little bit out of date? What's your opinion?

There must be a joke in this that I'm missing.

There has been some recent discussion over at the DW forum about the other Shibumi guy's (who has a similar jacket to yours) high-rise pants, could b a reference to that.

I wouldn't say the cut is out of date - but I would suggest not buttoning the top button. The sleeves could be lengthened a tad and also, less importantly, appear to be slightly big, but again I don't think this should stop you from wearing it. Maybe let the sleeves out a touch.

How does it fit across your back? The shoulders seem to sit nicely.

@caustic man Thanks for the feedback!

@pleatedjeans thanks! The top button is actually unbuttoned. But the gorge is rather high. I think that's one of the things that make me a bit uncertain. And I agree, although it's been altered it feels a bit too big, at least compared to my other suits. But still, I think I'll wear it occasionally.

Oh and @brovsko - nice look again, are the strides blue or gray, they seem to change from pic to pic?
