HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 2758

@upr_crust: The light grey Gagliardi suit is way too short. The button stance is also annoyingly high. I'll definitely get rid of it. I guess that is an occupational hazard when one runs the RTW gauntlet.

The charcoal RLBL meets the ass-crack criteria, and in my opinion looks pretty decent IRL. That photo was taken from a low angle so the perspective is distorted. I'll probably keep it, to be honest.

Having said that, I agree that a longer jacket looks better on someone with my body type. Perhaps not quite as long as Andy's jackets, but as you say, it works for him.

As someone whose torso is shorter than average, a jacket shorter than is orthodox around here actually looks better on me. Ultimately, it's a matter of vertical proportion - how one best divides one's torso from one's legs.

Remember that the member of the SF Politburo who pointed out the shortness of your jacket has a propensity for jackets a bit longer than are currently fashionable - his choice, which works for him.

I'm a member of the Politburo?

Agreed, but in this case I’m having difficulty imagining that particular jacket doing the job, unless he’s wearing the buttocks equivalent of a push-up bra …

Cheers,

It just occurred to me that I could also recreate something very similar with @dieworkwear's sil/linen custom cloth, which is with a tailor now. But mostly, for the past hour or so, I've been basking in the glow of becoming a member of the Politburo.

Summer style, inspired by this outfit by Mark Cho.

He wears a cream wool-silk-linen Ring Jacket and I wear my trademark beltback 30's linen sportcoat!

Pants are J. Crew, custom block stripe shirt, and AE loafers!

Details and write up on my blog if anyone is interested!
