HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 2736

@wigglr You're spot on - even though a navy chalkstripe flannel suit sits on the conservative/traditional end of the spectrum it still stands out in my workplace, so I toned it down with the navy tie.

And thanks for the kind comment :)

@An Acute Style The pant are MTM, made of Manning & Manning from a Holland & Sherry cloth some years a go. Ironing by myself.

Had them alternated once when I lost some kilos. Still very versatile and use them every now and then.

Never thought about it that way hey, always thought my laptop's webcam was a bad thing. This made my day. I love this comment as much as I love your humour sir! Brought me to tears!

Thanks for brightening up me day!

Still nervous about posting.. Sportcoat today. It's quite an odd colour. It is a grey POW check with a green, red, & blue overcheck. I'm not sure if you can see it clearly, but I tired my best to show the texture on the photos below. Trousers have a single pleat and plain bottoms. Weather was oddly weird today and there was a sandstorm on the way home, but nothing serious though. Hope you like it. Shoes are black derby boots and accessories are gold.

Don't be nervous.  It's better to post and learn than not.  I think the shirt collar is too big for you.  I'm not a fan of the tie pin.  I'd recommend not making the tie bow that much if you do wear one.  The tie and jacket both look dated and not in a good way.  The stripes on the tie don't go well with the stripes of the shirt.  The fit of the jacket is good, but I wish the lapels weren't as wide.

@An Acute Style,

I see your point sir. Thank you for the advice again. I will take note on the tie bowing! I understand that not everything I put out will be "SF worthy" but I truly do appreciate your feedback(like the tie pin/ shirt and tie not mathcing) and the fact that you took time to reply in a clear and constructive way, and not hating on anything. As a newcomer, it really helps a bunch and helps me learn. I look forward to next time I hear from you sir.

With many thanks,

Hal

Good evening gentlemen,

Starting off the week with something summer-y and nautical. Hope you like it. Shirt is a contrast collared shirt with a blue base and a white collar with double cuffs. Accessories are gold and shoes are tassel loafers. No texture photo though due to me being late and lazy. Tie is a blue base with white dots.

I also just noticed how my tie is askew..Sorry.

The weather remains cooler than normal for August in NYC, and I have to meet with my contractor and his decorator this evening, to discuss matters concerning the new apartment. I thought it might be nice to look as if I can afford their services - a triumph of appearance over reality.

Smashing sport coat! Looks like a linen blend. What would you call the color? Hard to tell on my monitor. Brick red?
