American trad Friday at the dog park.

Glasses: PRL Aviators

Coat:  Orvis USA

Shirt and Chinos:  B2

Sweater: Polo USA

Loafers:  Alden Shell LHS

These loafers are about to take the journey back to Alden for their second restoration.  They're getting a little beat up again.  Like me.  I wish there was someplace I could go for a similar restoration.

Bling.  I bought this Rolex Datejust back in 1989.  Like me, it's starting to show its age a bit.  Gracefully, I hope.

I have to venture into the wilds of downtown San Francisco tomorrow for lunch, so I expect my outfit for the day will be a bit more formal than I've been posting.

Also, apologies for not yet mastering the art of hiding extra pics behind the spoiler tag.  I'm working on it.

So sorry about your loss, but it's awesome to see how happy the pup looks with you. You guys obviously gave him a good life.

I always wear highwaisted trousers and I tie my ties to wear I think their normal length should be on my body...i don't take waistband into account at all.

I will be taking on a job where my position will be more business casual. I might slowly peel back posting here because less ties and more jawnz and chinos will be worn.

Justin, a few thoughts:
1) you own jeans?!?
2) would your current rigs be frowned upon at our new gig?
3) most selfishly, will you be offloading any of your current wardrobe?

1. Yes, lots from Gustin but just bought my first pair of 3sixteens from Standard and Strange in Oakland. All via email but the guys there are super friendly and helpful!
2. I am going from a retail atmosphere of dress furnishings to sportswear. I think a tie would be over kill, and trousers might be acceptable every so often. I plan on putting some money in some casual wear pieces which include chinos, outerwear, and some knits.
3. All good to be selfish, a few of my old coworkers asked if I was going to unload some stuff. There are a few Ring suits (mid grey, charcoal pin, and AFB pin) that I will be separating with, as well as some ties and maybe a few pairs of shoes.

I take this as an opportunity to enhance my casual apparel while maintaining a strong wardrobe of dress apparel.

Good day gentlemen,

Long time lurker here. I would very much like to be a part of this forum, but I understand that there are some rules that I have to abide to in this thread. I would just like to ask for some advice regarding the etiquette and rules for a newcomer before I actually post a photo. I know that you lot would appreciate if I enlarged fit pics; correct? I would also like to ask how to use the 'spoiler' function as well if possible, as I have seen many of the frequent posters here use them. I am fairly young, and I understand that I have much to learn from you well dressed gentlemen. I would appreciate any advice given hey.

With many thanks,

Hal

I wish the PS wasn't so close in color to the tie, but otherwise this is one of my favorites from you, Don.

Welcome! I would post whatever pics you think look best. You'll get comments and tips to help improve if needed. Post what you want in the text window. Then highlight what you want to hide as a spoiler. Then click on the black cartoon voice callout icon and hit submit. That will make you highlighted pics or text a spoiler. Good etiquette to use that function when you quote someone else. That way everyone doesn't have to massive repeated posts.

Cheers!

Thanks so much for this!  I've been trying to figure it out intuitively, but I was clicking the spoiler button first, and then trying to add pics.  Didn't work,  This does.  Great!

Heading out for a nice Saturday brunch in San Francisco.

Hat:  Biltmore

Shirt: Thos. Pink MTM

Tie: Hermes

Tie Clip:  Hill School Campus Store

Suit: Oxxford

Links:  B2

Watch:  PP Calatrava

Woven Croc Captoes:  Mezlan

Told you I'm a sucker for woven shoes.

Yes, I actually do own a dress watch.

I took these shots beforehand, because if the brunch devolves into a different sort of shots, the after version will likely be somewhat disheveled.  Or pantless.
