Thanks, L.

I've had those trousers for a while, but they are on the wider end of my current spectrum at the leg opening, which plays a role in what you're seeing. And part of it is stance/photo-trickery because they don't always lay quite as cleanly as in that photo.

Trousers are a major area for improvement for me that I'm working on; I'm normal at the waist, wide at the thighs/rear, and short-legged, which means a more standard taper (even though it is the shape of my actual leg) ends up looking pegged. It also sometimes leaves me with too much fabric behind the thigh.

Recently I bought a pair of SuSu pants, sized up, and then had the waist taken in to see if that worked better. Of course the inseam was shortened considerably, too - need to measure to see where the leg opening size netted out but I think these are now the widest at the opening I own.

On the whole, it seems I'll probably need to effectively make more of a "tube" cut with very little taper, meaning an even wider leg opening. Shrug.

This has been your daily over-sharing post.

Fantastic and classic summer look! I'm glad someone else likes a slight break break in their trousers. Some of the posts here with the perfectly straight pants make me wonder if anyone actually sits down. Also, your watch collection is simply amazing.

Oh, and the wider my pants get the less my wife likes them. So that's a fun benefit in all this, too.

You should check out Panta bro, they drape really well and are cut trim enough without being too slim.

The biggest problem with HF in my opinion is consistency. They make lots of stuff for outlets and online stores like Sierra Trading Post. Their white label with dark HF logo are to be avoided. Fused and mass-produced with fake retail prices to make the fake sales look good.

Their recent mainline "Mahogany" label stuff is pretty good but inconsistent. Quality did not seem to be the same across the mainline for some reason. Maybe quality control was not a strong point for them? That said, the Mahogany line used lots of Loro Piana fabric and makes for good CBD. I have several and wear them regularly. Their A fit is bulky and similar to BB's Madison fit. Their B fit has slightly softer shoulders and a trimmer cut. Sport coats have great fabric and construction and I own several.

Their new gold label seems quite good. I've tried a few on but don't own any. Their new slimmer cut is "Hamilton."

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Made for outlet cheapies.

Mainline up until a year or two ago (was light blue before that). Good stuff but inconsistent.

Latest mainline tag. can find decent sales on their website and at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack.

But whose opinion matters: your wife's or semi-anonymous dudes' on the Internet? You already know the answer. :revolve:

How's that saying go? He was a real sit-down guy? No. That's not how it goes.

Eh, I've done far worse. And actually we both recognize that there are silhouettes on the other that we aren't keen on but understand it's the price of being into clothes. Besides, she seems to like my weekend stuff well enough to not leave me for a SW&D guy, so that's pretty cool.
