I've been really loving 1930's ties. The detail is amazing!

What cloth is the suit? Wool solaro? (looks great!)

Hey all, long-time lurker here, and like many before me, I've been steadily attempting to learn from every poster in this thread. This is my first outfit post, looking to see what I could have done better or what works. Love the discourse and content in here, hoping to keep absorbing everything I can & eventually help other newbies.

Jacket: Oxxford

Shirt: Burberry London

Tie: John Comfort

Pants: J Crew (navy blue)

Shoes: Polo Ralph Lauren (Made in Italy)

My main qualms are that the shoes were too loud & that there wasn't enough shade differentiation between the jacket & pants (charcoal grey/navy blue). Was hoping the navy/tan tie would be a subtle match for the pants & the shoes but who knows. Any advice is appreciated!

@madeinbogota

I like everything, but too much going on when put together. Scale tie and shirt too close. Better with plain sky shirt here.

Not sure about pants, might be better with mid grey og lighter blue.

Tan sued shoes? Think that could be nice here.

Do you think there is sufficient contrast between SC and trousers?

I need a light-gray three-piece suit. Also brilliant with a pink shirt and green tie.

@madeinbogota, I'm not so perturbed by the shirt/tie clash as I am by the trousers, which simply don't belong with everything else.

You would have been much better served with a crisply pressed pair of light grey flannel or worsted trousers. Those J Crews are shapeless and completely wrong for the very sharp tailoring of the Oxxford jacket.

@AlgisLT, I could swear I have that same suit. SuitSupply Lazio in a VBC Super 110's? Anyway, love your Bond tribute and I might try this look myself.

@blekit, I have to say that the trouser/jacket contrast is not sufficiently bold. I thumbed the fit because I liked the top half and assumed the trousers and jacket were a suit! Still, nice to see your continuing improvement here.

@blekit I think the shoes are nice and brown captoes are an absolute staple. But I think unfortunately, this last might not suit your feet. The vamp area has too much "volume" and has caused quite a bit of creasing on the toe cap. The instep is also too high for you and the opening a little wide. You might need to explore going down in width or size.

This was MTM suit from them, so the fabric might be very similar to one that was used in Lazio, but not exactly the same. They only had light grey 2 piece at that time, but I wanted 3 piece, so I went for MTM.
