Many thanks @doomx! FYI, the tie is more of a rust irl. I don't think my crappy iPhone pics do it justice. Cheers.

@Andy57 I absolutely love your rig today. Nicely done. The jacket length and overall fit looks great on you. Also, your post reminds me that I need to have a better awareness of ties that don't work well with a four in the hand. Have you found the double fih to be a suitable option in such instances?

Thank you, you're too kind.

I've used the double four-in-hand on occasion but I have found that for an unlined 7-fold, like this one, it isn't much better. It just depends on the tie.

It may well be that I simply suck at tying them, but I hate double four in hands. The knot always ends up looking extremely elongated and skinny, in my experience.

Suit: Brooks Brothers

Shirt: Proper Cloth

Tie & Square: Cordone 1956

Hat: Brent Black/Panama Hats of the Pacific

The tie and square are on their maiden voyage. Like all unlined 7-fold ties, this tie ties a tiny four-in-hand, so I defied orthodoxy and tied it in a half-windsor.

Is that a Panta tie?

Whatever it is it comports nicely with the nappy cloth of that jacket.

Cheers,

Yep, Panta. It's a cotton silk blend. And thanks!

Meant to quote this earlier - fit is nice, button point is maybe a little high but a solid workhorse of a suit. My only nit would be a repp/regimental tie with a suit always struck me as a little off and I eventually stopped doing it. That may be personal preference, though. It just feels like that sort of tie belongs in an odd jacket fit because of the school uniform connotations. YMMV.
