The pants fall a little better than they appear, but the overhead sunlight exaggerates any wrinkles.

Can anyone tell me the name of this weave? Someone recently told me it is called pineapple grenadine, but I'm not sure that is a real thing. Thanks.

William your full shot pic would benefit from another cam angle (A cam height half your body height would be perfect). And please choose for your further fits the large picture size (500 x 1000).

Grenadine fina or piccola, can't see on my phone. Here's a chart for you for the sake of comparison: https://www.samhober.com/grenadine.htm

I have a few ties in what appears to be that weave, and the term I've heard used to describe them is "nattarino" or "natte" - a square "waffle" pattern, sometimes in a single color, sometimes in multiple colors.

Quote: Superb. Details on the suit?

Many thanks. It’s an old MTM which has benefited a bit from a subsequent trip to the alterations tailor, super 150s (yeah, I know—sometimes you need to take whatever’s available) wool; can’t recall the mill (if indeed I ever knew it).

@Academic2 , I hope the quiet perfection of that fit doesn't lead people to overlook it. Truly elegant.

@Academic2 very nice fit, wonder why nobody commented on it yet!

May I enquire about the shoes?

Not to steal Cleav's thunder, but, were I to guess, I would say that they're Crockett & Jones Westbournes.

Nice SC! Sleeves look a bit short but I like it paired with the charcoal slacks and burgundy tie; seems to occupy a solid, middle formality ground. The black shoes and gingham shirt, however, sit further away from that middle in opposite directions, causing an incoherence between top and bottom. As boring as a plain blue, spread-collar shirt may seem, with how interesting the jacket is I would go with that and mid-brown brogues. My $.02. Fit is great!

I hate to stoke CM's ego, but that really is a nice jacket. He even accessorized it in a pleasing way. Dammit.

I very glad Caustic Man has been posting to this thread for awhile now. Along with clarinetplayer, and a few others, he’s got a fine sense of the logic of American ‘Ivy’ style, and provides a welcome bit of variety here.

Cheers,
