Well, there are some places in North America where the humidity comes very close to, or exceeds, that in South America. Particularly in the U.S. South. In northern and western states it can be much drier than, say Florida in summer. Perhaps this is where the difference of opinion comes in.

Would cravats be considered purely an affectation? I have a pathological aversion to hats, scarves, gloves, etc. worn for any reason other than the weather. Lots of folks on this forum look great wearing them but I can't bring myself to do it.

Having already hit "the wrong one", I still can't see myself seriously wearing an ascot/"day cravat" (as much as I may have the requisite pomposity to do so).

Nice.  @Roy Al. You should lead with this angle sometimes! I think the other pictures are great at showing fit, but the natural light sometimes washes out your great color choices.
