HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 2568

My Dad loved them (cravats) but I for one don't have the Je ne sais quoi to pull them off.    Here's Cary Grant in To Catch a Thief.   Looks good, Cox.

Morning gents, long time lurker (admirer) who's recently had to start wearing suits more often. Thought I'd throw myself to the wolves for some feedback- cheers!

I'm not mad about my shirt collar, but gotta work with what I have for the minute. Also think the jacket could be a touch longer.

Everything looks fairly slim (probably a bit more so than I would go for), but I think it's a solid start.

What is it you dislike about the collar? I think it looks solid.

I won't wear a cravat until I'm 60 or own a yacht.

Looks good @Mcmerc. I think you're better at this than you'd like to admit.

Is the jacket Canali? Looks like their cut.

Thanks, Contrast is exaggerated in the photo. The jacket is actually somewhat lighter, it is a SuSu outlet find. Never bought their regular stuff, as I need to let out the waist completely and shortening the sleeves is a pain (for my short arms, just cheating with this one by leaving the last button open).

Epaulet on Maiden Voyage
Mazzarelli
Vanda
Godard

The jacket is a really really dark navy fresco. I actually really like how dark and true inky navy it is

Thanks! It's definitely slim, as am I- extremely so. I feel a more traditional, fuller fit would overwhelm my frame. Definitely something I'll keep in mind for my next suit though.

I just wish the collar points were a fraction longer so as to sit under my lapels comfortably.

I have no problems with cravats per se, the problem is that people who wear them nowadays tend to be assholes (of course excluding all members in this forum). Maybe its connected with the yacht ownership...

Hehe, this old one we liked so much that we reintroduced it this season.

When we visited the manufactory which does our hats in Spain, the owner told me that rolling a hat often is not a problem – in the humidity of South America. In Europe or North America, he strongly advised not to.

The Friday Challenge is "bow tie". I may make a couple of attempts at that theme this week. Here's my first, channeling my inner old fogey (not that at this point in my life it's such a hard thing to channel . . .)

Suit - BBGF
Shirt - Tyrwhitt
Tie - BB
PS - PRL
Vintage watch chain
Cufflinks - Benson & Clegg, London
Shoes - Septieme Largeur, Paris
