This the reason I often wonder why some make bizarre comments about what others are wearing based on pictures posted on the internet.

I am in favor of more people eating cookies and fewer people making bizarre comments.
Probably the most sensible thing I have read on this website in years. Maybe you'll be lucky to have this become a 25 thumb post, whatever the hell that means.

Whether or not it's true, I does make me think I'm doing something right or on the path to rightness, at least!

The 'thumbs' are well-deserved.  You’ve posted some classic stuff here, all quite flatteringly tailored for your physique.

Cheers,

Ac

thx Eric.  Rolling off the brands can be distracting imo in a 'it's Brioni/Rubinacci/Ring etc so it must be good' kind of way.  More so in SW&D, where brandname-checking can be a shorthand claim to good taste in the absence of any objective consensus.

More sitting down! Square is gauzy, tie is cashmerey.

In the spirit of the conversation about jacket length, this is one of the first blazers I ever bought. It's too short, and too tight, so it hardly ever gets buttoned. But then again, I really don't tend to button any of my jackets unless it's windy, I'm at a more formal event, or I'm StyleFarming. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BTW, @TweedyProf started a thread about this topic, which I forgot about till now but intend to post in - you guys should too since it comes up so often: http://www.styleforum.net/t/521774/one-of-the-worst-questions-in-sf-is-my-jacket-too-long-short/

Thumbed for the suit, which looks like it's a good fit and I like the fabric a lot. Think a different tie would have served you better - the different shades of blue aren't really complementary and the textture/pattern doesn't seem to work that well with the windowpane. Looks like you're getting some outside light tho - time to suck it up and bring your tri-pod and dslr outside and prove to the neighborhood you're not a sane person! smile.gif

AAC, does that tie have some sort of paisley band across it toward the bottom? Just what the hell is going on here?

That's what I like to call "opposite action to shame" :) :fistbump:

While I agree on the tightness (I see snagging), I would personally be happy with the length.

Appreciate it. For me, it's less about name dropping (this can certainly be in poor taste) than about finding sources of inspiration for future kops...

I totally agree with the tie choice. I just had a new tie and I really wanted to wear it but I think its suited for more of a sportcoat/trouser combo. The room I am using has more access to light which is nice for pictures.
I love the suit and its a super light fabric which is so comfy all day

Justin, my guess is it is just the lighting, as it doesn't appear quite so in the second picture, but that tie looks extremely shiny in the first picture, almost satin-y.
