Not sure I get the newsboy cap with that suit (by now I feel like Erica is one of us and open to critique :D) but still nice.

I'm afraid Zero Mostel is singing "Something appealing, something appalling, something for everyone, a comedy tonight!" Not my cup of tea but I'm actually kind of relieved to see the daring AAS again.

@Roy Al, love Tom Waits, thanks for that!

It certainly might. Unfortunately the texture of the shirt doesn't come across well in the photos. As for BD collars, don't listen to those people. BD collars are da bomb. You just need better ones. Although I recall you have at least one Kamakura, so good on you.

The tie isn't to my taste, although many here may feel differently and it looks better than I would expect. Shirt's a bit dark (and sleeves a bit short). I agree with CM on the socks too, although something other than a plain dark colour is probably required to match the tie.

Thanks for the advice on both fronts.

Today's rig:

Brooks Brothers suit and Irish poplin repp tie

Spier and MacKay shirt

AE shoes and belt

TieBar square

^^^ Some distracting fit issues, but nice overall.

I would normally agree, different levels of formality etc. It seems like women tend to get away with more of these faux pas. I hadn't even thought about it before you called it. We will have a serious talk about "country" vs "city" tonight.

Lovely, as always.

IIRC Walter is English. We English do not consider ourselves from "the" or any other continent!

My mistake. I thought he was German. Believe me, I've gotten the "I'm not European, I'm British!" speech before. :D

I agree with a comment that the jacket is a little short, but otherwise this is excellent, in my opinion. You look very sharp.

As for the 11th commandment, sadly it would appear to be more honored in the breach in this community. :)
