Tweed, last time :)

Friday.  The second of my new raw silk ties.  Are these stripes also clashing?

Today's attire looks like a re-run of yesterday's, at least in terms of color scheme - navy suit, blue/white striped shirt with contrast collar and cuffs, and purple tie. This suit is being worn today as this will most likely be the last cool-ish day in NYC for the season - a last hurrah for three pieces and flannel.

Suit - Paul Stuart
Shirt - Harvie & Hudson
Tie - Hackett
Cufflinks - Tiffany
Vintage watch chain
Braces - Paul Stuart
Shoes - Stefano Branchini, via Bergdorf Goodman, NYC

Included is a "lifestyle" photo from last night's members' reception at the Met - drinks in the Petrie Court.

Ah, I see. Still, the danger of it potentially looking pink would have prevented me from wearing it this way.

Perfectly fine in my book.

I don't like the PS but the PS and tie do not clash at all.

Theo, nice job of texture matching this time. The shirt is too "business" for me and the socks scream teenage girl rather than Summer fun. Maybe it's the size of the stripes. The top two pictures make your jacket look brown and I liked the tie better when I thought it was.

Thanks for the feedback CM. The shirt is chambray, so I thought the fabric texture would overcome the formality of the collar (not to mention allow me to avoid the button down collars I've been encouraged to wear less often). The socks are probably a matter of personal choice. I may agree on that one. A brown jacket would make for a fantastic combo with this rig. I'll be on the lookout in the future for something that might work. Cheers.

It certainly might. Unfortunately the texture of the shirt doesn't come across well in the photos. As for BD collars, don't listen to those people. BD collars are da bomb. You just need better ones. Although I recall you have at least one Kamakura, so good on you.

@TheoProf I think that that's the best-fitting of the outfits you've posted. Jacket and pants look very good.

The tie isn't to my taste, although many here may feel differently and it looks better than I would expect. Shirt's a bit dark (and sleeves a bit short). I agree with CM on the socks too, although something other than a plain dark colour is probably required to match the tie.

This was my very first "custom" sport coat, in a "suit" fabric. So many things I would change about the fit of the coat...length, drape, pockets, stitching. I can't even tie my shoes with this coat on. Live and learn. These shoes on the other hand are like slippers (unlined PTB from Alden for BB)

A sunny but cool spring day.  First outing in linen this season but rather tentative, retaining a little light knitwear too.
