The stress placed on a tie by gently rolling it is nothing compared to the stress produced by tying a knot, after all.

In the current case I think there were quality issues with the silk in that run.  Mine arrived with a couple of very small but still visible holes (about the size of a large pin-prick, but that's large enough for the interlining to show), and after a couple of wearings the print is already fading a bit in the knot area.

Cheers,

Ac

My own observation is that the interlining just isn't up to the job. I think it has flattened out, and it wasn't at all substantial to start with. It's really too bad, as the ties themselves are lovely. I am somewhat alarmed to hear yours are fading, Ac.

This would be my ideal, as well...though it is the definition of unrealistic in my case.

I really don't know. All I can say is that this particular suit, and this particular pair of boots, both give off a kind of relaxed vibe, and the colours look nice together.

I'd articulate it as different kinds of casualness. Shell casual to me leans toward workwear. Linen casual leans toward leisure. I could see boots with linen but they would have to be something more leisure-ish.

It's just the lighting. No mohair in the suit, not even a high super number. I was very suprised it turned out looking flashy.
