HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 2272

Have not worn this jacket in over a year. Thinking of letting the waist and chest out a bit (gotten a bit bigger in the chest/shoulders) though I fear the shoulders are a tad narrow now. Nothing major, I still like the jacket enough to keep it. Apologies for the sleeves, the camera angle makes it look worse than it is.

I wear Navy Odd Trousers all the time. And Northern Lights too.

That's fine. A lot of people don't agree with that. Just so long as you're arguing against something someone actually said. :D

It was more or less decrying the (in my opinion) irrational negativity toward blue trews.

Again, there is none. More challenging (which it is) does not infer negativity.

God, Siegfried is boring. I proud myself for being intellectual, but that thing is heavy.

There's just no way we're going to reach agreement on this one...

Whenever I think of navy/blue trousers and a gray jacket, I think of an outfit of @EliodA once wore. I thought I had it squirrelled away somewhere, but it appears I do not. One of my favorites. A couple of navy/blue pants at work (and working):

Sports Coat & One Piece Collar Shirts.:

There's no agreement to reach. I'm telling you I have no negativity against navy trousers. You can believe it or not, but you can't tell me what I think.

I really like this one. I think I tend to prefer navy trousers when matched with a patterned jacket, preferably with a warm element in it. It seems to balance things out more.

Of course you can wear blue trousers with a gray coat. I do and also wear gray trousers with a blue blazer. Blue pants can go with anything. Of course blue other than navy works best as dress trousers. Air Force blue or lighter blue for summer linen pants.

Anyway, I keep stumbling in these recurring arguments. A long running debate?

That's fair. It wasn't intended to single you, or anyone else, out...just a general observation of tastes and preferences.

Edit: I think Clag's posts perfectly epitomizes why I think the notion that blue trews are "difficult" to get right is silly, as both fits provided look (doofy hat aside) exceedingly simple in my view.
