SF engine has some issues with using images from Google Photos, I had to download them on my machine. Anyways, photos are where they belong now.

@TheoProf In my opinion this is the best fitting outfit you have posted so far (especially jacket shoulders and buttoning stance). Love the pants and braces. The shirt game, as it was said before, still needs improvement. I think you could try out cutaway or semi-cutaway collars instead of classic kents.

Thank you, Clarinet. Just for that, I included another restaurant "lifestyle" photo in today's posting. satisfied.gif

@Roy Al, that's really good.

@blekit, what's bringing you down today is that tie. Something more like @TheoProf's would be much better.

Thanks @blekit! I may try a semi-cutaway at some point (not sure a full cutaway collar would suit me). You and @Caustic Man are correct, I need to up my shirt game, and I'll be doing so as my budget allows. The kind words and the suggestions are much appreciated.

Well, I must kindly disagree this time. As much as I agree, that @TheoProf has a beautiful one on today, I'll defend my choice as well. Maybe the pictures don't give justice to this tie (especially the full-body shot which is too dark, blurry and where it additionally got caught up after I buttoned my jacket), but I really love it's deep color, slight shine and the way it drapes. Not to mention shantung's one-of-a-kind texture (which might be quite polarizing, I agree on that).

Having that said, thanks for your opinion!

I actually like the texture. It doesn't necessarily go with that suit, but I like it in general. Here's the thing (if I may go into a little more detail)... the tie is a "blamo!" color. It's really in your face, especially with the sobriety of the rest of the fit. That, coupled with the shine, and the mismatched texture, just make it too much. I'm glad you like it, but it's just not working.

I'm here to learn and improve, so the more detailed feedback is the more valuable it is. I'm aware of the strength of the color and that's why I use it in outfits that otherwise are very neutral so it can become a focal point. That was my way of thinking today.

However, after some consideration and reviewing the photos, I must say that I agree the texture mismatch in this composition is too strong. I usually wear this tie with more summer-ready suits, which have some texture themselves (e.g. linen or mohair blends instead of pure wool like in today's case). Do you think it's a better match? May I ask what are the sample outfits where it could work in your opinion?

Honestly I don't like the tie. Not just with this suit. Therefor I don't think I would be any good at giving you any example of where it might work. The color and the shine just don't do it for me and I am hard pressed to imagine anything that I might wear it with. Of course, that's me. You gotta do you, I guess. If I may say, I'm not a big fan of over-thinking what you wear. The idea of having a focal point, or framing a fit, or having some sort of "method" seems to me to go awry far more than it turns out good. This doesn't mean that we can't come up with reasons as to why we think some things look good together while others don't. It simply means that you don't always need to have a "system" (even if sometimes you might). As I always say, just wear nice things that go well together.
