X-post from the green tie challenge.

The lookbooks for Drake's of London gave me the idea for this fit. I love this jacket with denim.

SC - Raffaele Caruso tweed

Shirt - Kamakura

Tie - Tie your Tie Cashmere

Trousers - Levi´s

Shoes - C&J Belgrave in Polo Suede

@Anden - a freaking awesome look, depite the jeans. I wouldn´t wear jeans with a tie (seems incongruent to me), so i would have ditched them in favor of grey flannels. Still: a killer look.

Thanks Dennis. I wear flannels most of my days and this jacket quite a lot with charcoal wollen flannels so I agree to what you propose but I felt like trying this for the challenge. I usually don´t wear a tie with denim.

Get more Italian suits.

Haha!
Thank you. I will at some point smile.gif

And pairing bold light colored ties with a bold light-colored suit is very difficult. Solid dark brown wool tie would be a lot easier, and would cool off that suit.

This is precisely right. I was wondering what phrase might correctly describe it but this is on the mark. It just looks, sloppy.

First attempt and photos are terrible (taken indoors). I just started working on this, and I am fully aware that the pants are ill fitting, too full cut, while uncomfortable the same time. I do like them because they are fuller rise, so I am having this and another pair altered. I also think the jacket fits me well, but in retrospect I would have preferred a lower button stance. Here it is:

SC: Southwick
Shirt: S&M
Tie: AD56 Milano
Pants: LE flannel
Shoes: AE BB Park Ave's

@ComfortablyDumb I really dig this. Actually, I've really liked everything you've posted the past few weeks.

@doomx actually I think the trousers look ok. They might need to be shortened a bit in order to get the fully SF approved "no break" look, but I've seen much worse form first time posters. Not a bad all around fit either but you are right, your pics are terrible. Keep posting.

@ComfortablyDumb upper half is not bad, those trousers need to go, however.

Welcome, doomx, and not bad at all for a debut fit.  The jacket fit looks good to me (I don't think the button stance is a problem), and while the trousers could benefit from some slimming and tapering, they're by no means egregious.

I think the scale of your shirt stripes and your jacket pattern is a bit too close for me, and there's a formality clash there as well, pencil stripe shirts being very much a "city" attribute.

Keep 'em coming!

Excellent way to make a first post! I do not think the button stance is wrong at all, and I do appreciate the fuller cut trousers, actually! Excellent starting grounds!

Cheers! I feel like I definitely know what I like at this point but I still have a lot to learn.

Oh man! I love these trousers, haha. They're fun without being too bold. I totally understand them not being to everyone's tastes, however.

They look like suit trousers.

@doomx

Don't shorten those. They are a good length
