Just for your info, this particular SF thread tends to revolve around fits comprising either suit with tie, or sports jacket with tie. Go back and read a few dozen pages and you'll see that to be the case.

The tieless, jacketless fits you've been posting would certainly sit well in the MC Casual thread.

You can certainly persist in posting tieless, jacketless fits on this thread. My prediction is that such posts will be met with silence or the occasional negative comment. Your choice really.

A certain attitude has built up around SF, and in particular, this thread. It is what it is. You're not the first person to be fazed by it, and you won't be the last. Actually a newbie implosion and flame-out happens about once a month here on average.

Got any nice jacket-and-tie fits to show us? Be aware that they may not be met with universal acclaim. But I for one will view your stuff with an open mind.

Thanks mate, I catch the (unairconditioned) bus to my data entry pit in 35 degree heat> I'm not wearing some jacket and tie, maybe in winter.

@Forper a few semi-brief thoughts:

1. Nobody ever said your clothes looked of a quality of an entry-level scrub. I did say that the way they fit you made you appear as such. In any event, $3300 for the final outcome is far, far too much, and would still be too much if the belt was actually $200. Quality will last a good long while (and that is a good mindset to have), but quality/high price tags along do not make something look good.

I'm more about the details. I want to look low key, but with details...

2. You're 100% correct regarding the shirt you mentioned. Far too tight, and far too short. It was a poorly executed foray into MTM shirting, and, as such, was taken to the local Goodwill months ago. Thankfully not terribly expensive (done intentionally), as it was a sunken cost almost from the off. I suppose I must commend your efforts to get back at me for daring to question your unique style lol.

Word.

3. I ask this in all sincerity: what is your hope/intention in posting in the thread? I myself utilize it for inspiration and advice for improvements. You've made quite clear that is not your intention.

I just thought some dudes would say my gear is rad and then I'd feel good. Same as everyone who posts up getups on the internet right? Honestly I'm never going to change coz hate makes me stronger. It's just the way I am..self belief got me through a lot in life..

In any event, there's no way to assess your outfit without saying it looks frumpy at best, and terrible at worst. I dig that you like being comfortable, but wearing a bed sheet masquerading as a shirt is not the optimal path to comfort. If you choose to spend a decent chunk of change on your clothes, why not spend a nominal fee to achieve a decent fit?

Fair enough, your opinion.

Yes, probably not too far off the mark. I certainly post fits in the hope that they will meet the approval of other members and garner thumbs.

As I said before, I think the fits you've posted up to now would be better received on the MC Casual thread. You may not agree with the way these threads are named, but that's just how things have settled in here.

Looks great, don't add buttons.

Nope, MTM from Cove here in Frankfurt. I think mine's hopsack, but I don't remember what the tailor called the fabric in German. I picked it up yesterday and I love it.

If it makes you feel better, it's not nearly as vibrant as it appears in the picture. Quite muted, in fact. Maybe that's not it, though...
