Amazing suit, Don, and great outfit.

As usual, I find your preference for little or no taper on your pants to be perplexing. These would look so much better with a taper to an ankle opening at least 3cm narrower than now. Also slightly shorter, and with maybe a 4cm cuff to add a little weight and allow the pants to sit better on your shoes.

But I know you've resisted such suggestions in the past, so perhaps I'm wasting my words...

p.s. left sleeve seems too short.

Get that suit yesterday and after using it today the trousers goes to my tailor. I will shorten and taper the pants a little bit. I think it´s enough cloth reserve to make cuffs, too.

Great plan! What's your thought on the left jacket sleeve - worth letting out a bit?

I have a look at the sleeves in the evening, when I wear that outfit for the work. Now it´s time to get a little bit sleep.

Nice suit @Coxsackie but I think the blue of the shirt sits uneasy with the blues of suit and tie. It looks a bit too lavenderish.

That's why I picked the square. To anchor, or at least refer to, the lavender of the shirt.

What colour shirt would you have preferred?

Gentlemen, i appreciate the discussions over the last few pages, as to which motivation brought people to this forum. I can only speak for myself, but i don´t come here to seek advice. I enjoy looking at menswear pics and source some inspiration from them - there are some posters who could as well be framed, sitting on my wall, for the fact that they dress impeccably.

As far as it concerns my own pictures, i do appreciate your feedback (you remember the "tie tucked in between the db lapels"), however i feel like i have meanwhile developed some form of "proprietary" style. While many of you prefer to dress CBD (which is just fine), it´s not my cup of tea. I still can appreciate your looks, that just doesn´t mean i have to reproduce it to find your approval.

On the other side, i also think there are some rules, guidelines and principles that should not be breached (thinking about how pants and jackets should fit, etc.)...anything else apart from that is subject to taste and this forum is testament to the fact that there´s a huge variety on display. Some are horrorful, some are genius - each to his own. I pick up what i like, try to incorporate it into my own fits and that´s about it.

Doesn´t work for me - the suit screams "business", while the waistcoat yells "country". Both pieces on their own would have been great, but not in this particular combination.

Anywhow, the pics...
