I still enjoyed your answer. Very sharp look. Who is the maker of the jacket?

For me it's preferable to have the stripe parallel the edge of the lapel or, if there's some belly, have it die out in the belly.

What do others think?

TBH I hadn't noticed that. I'll check the other lapel (not visible in this shot) to see if it's reflected.

I guess that could be regarded as a tailoring fault but IRL these stripes are fairly faint. Would undoubtedly be far more egregious if they were higher in contrast.

SB, I admire your restraint in not gushing effusively at the wondrousness of my slubby tie.

He has better lighting and image resolution.  Also he has a nicer wardrobe.  And perhaps a nicer chair.

Let's go with "Poor Man's Claghorn."

You see this quite often on DBs, where I understand it's done to save fabric. I don't know if the same economic reason applies here. I agree it's not so aesthetically pleasing. But Cox has been wise enough to pair it with a tie that has served as a toy for the neighbourhood cats, so I didn't even notice the lapels at first. wink.gif

AAS a plain white shirt and a slightly darker shade of grey for the tie might have saved that outfit. At least, the top half.

That jacket is beautiful. I especially love the length, it's hard to find jackets that are the proper length nowadays.

(Not crazy about the tie, though!)

Thank you, regarding the jacket. Unfortunately for reality, the picture makes it look slightly longer than it is in person. You're right about it being difficult to find proper length jackets nowadays. No one likes this tie but me, so I suppose that's why I wear it. smile.gif I have an affinity for arabesque/medallion ties.
