HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 2128

Thanks @pravda

That T&A PS is actually rather difficult to pair with other stuff:

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

The design problem for today was - how to integrate a very practical but ugly pair of hiking boots (due to conditions underfoot in the wake of this weekend's blizzard) into an outfit worthy of a meet-up of other cyber-sartorialists (assuming that any of them made to the menswear shows this week) this evening at a wine bar/restaurant in Murray Hill. (FYI, the place is called Lallisse, at the corner of 30th and Lexington, and we're going to assemble at 6:00 PM or thereafter, so locals, feel free to join in.)

Below are the results.

Sports jacket, waistcoat, shirt, trousers, and cap - BB
PS - Robert Talbott
Boots - Keen
Overcoat - Joseph Abboud
Scarf - Johnston's of Elgin

Mr. Crust, everything else is so nice that I'm just going to picture it with some EG Galways and give it a thumb!

Pretty nice :slayer:

What I often do, when there is a lot of snow, is putting hiking boots like you, and carry a nice pair of shoes in a bag for wearing them at the office for example.

EG Galways are for posting on Instagram, not for real life winter conditions.
@upr_crust, Sr. Agnelli would be proud.

Having said that ... my next vest (almost finished) is a DB with a printed ornament ;) BTW the fact that you adjusted the currency in your post was noticed and appreciated so the critical remark is fully forgiven ;)

To my old English eyes that mix of patterns and colours, although not expected these days, works as an example of what I used to know as 'controlled clashing':nodding:.  In this case the clashing seems just about on the right side.

New adventures in blues and browns. I see from the pictures that I show a little too much ps, but it's a lovely ps!

I like it a lot.

I really enjoy the whole outfit. It is a little bit different. Outfit kind of makes me think of a creamsicle, which is fun, especially in winter.

Okay, so the shirt stripe is lavender. That should work, though I think you'll like the result of pairing that coat and tie with a white-ground shirt with a light brown or tan stripe. This thread covers the issue of a coat's shoulder height:

You seem to have sloping shoulders, so I think coats with a higher and more built up shoulder would help.

Square is all ahoo . - crisp white linen TV fold prob best here. With that navy suit (although some here can pull-off that look) I'd go for darker shoes.

Ahoo? Haha what do you mean? That was my attempt at a TV fold perhaps the square could do with an iron? Any advice on that chaps? Also how do you store your PS's mine go in a jar which looks nice but probably isn't the best for keeping out creases. I had to tie it quite narrow due to the narrowness of the shirt opening but admittedly not my best!

Cheers,

Nick

Not my usual thing, but I went for a monochromatic grey look today.

@UrbanComposition love your fit today even though I don't like button collars with ties... really, really nice. The textures on display are excellent looking IMO.
