Agreed, the lapels and patch pockets scream Madison fit to me. Although I don't remember that particular fabric, which means it's probably dated back a few season or MTM (which wouldn't be surprising, giving the good fit!).

Back is all clean and tidy!

It's been a while now that you had these trousers made by Luxire. Do you still love the military crease (sewn in) or would you go differently if you had to order these over again? (debating wether or not to go military crease on my first Luxire order).

Perfect. Although I wish the collar would tuck under the lapels on your left side.

Oh no, he said fake Rolex on Style Forum :uhoh:  (just kidding!)

I'd do the crease for all but the heaviest fabrics. Minnis flannels probably don't need it. However, anything lighter weight or wrinkle prone just drapes so much nicer with a sewn in crease. I never have to press the trousers, it's easy to hang them up correctly, so no accidental double creases, and after a full day at the office the crease still looks crisp.

Thanks MF. They surely look stunning with the double forward pleats!

For all but the tallest of men, I think a DB should be as short as possible because it bisects the wearer with a hard horizontal line. With a SB coat, the sweep of the fronts up to the buttoning point extends the apparent length of the legs.

nabil, is that a suit? The texture is amazing.

That's a great Amies pic! Wonderful shoulder extension giving proper balance to the hips, allowing for aggressive tapering at the waist.

I'm afraid this will get me shunned, but I think the Amies suit looks terrible. That waspish waist and long jacket do nothing for me.

Well, of course, you wouldn't. I've picked up you enjoy being contrarian to me.

I dont enjoy being contrarian to you, or anyone else for that matter. When I happen to disagree with someone and I feel there is a point in expressing that, I do so.

I have noticed though that you offen state your opinions as fact, no "I think" or "imo" or what have you. Perhaps because you see things as so objective its bothersome to you when my opinion, and it just that, an opinion, is not in line with yours.

@New Shoes1 I love that jacket! There was an interesting conversation about exactly the combination you're wearing today (glen plaid tie and guncheck/shepherd's check/district check jackets) in the Grad Lounge earlier this year. Takeaway was that it's hard to do well unless both patterns are fairly muted, but yours looks right in the "sweet spot" to me.

It's Friday and there's a challenge afoot, so I'm wearing some windowpanes.

Helden, that's one of your better fitting jackets, I think. The angles on the sleeve cuffs, however, are a little aggressive, no? A lot of sleeve and then none at all in the back.

Good eye, Tweedy--I might have to get my tailor to fiddle with it.

In terms of fit, this is my preferred idiom for jackets--natural shoulders with a little bit of structure, moderate gorge, lapels that are wide but not too wide. I took a risk on the silhouette because this is a 40 that's been taken in significantly (rather than my usual 38), but I like the result.
