What a pity we can't really see how it all fits but from what I can see, I like it. :fonz:

There's a story to everything that I wear, but let me not bore the assembled masses with that.

As for today's ring (there are actually three rings which I wear on a regular basis - obviously not at the same time), it was my first experiment in jewelry design, some 30+ years ago.

My late husband commissioned a jeweler to create a ring like the one I am wearing today, with a flat piece of lapis lazuli. To be different, I commissioned the same jeweler to make me a ring with a cabochon of malachite. I discovered the hard way that a cabochon of the same overall size as a flat stone is much bigger, visually, and, equally the hard way, I discovered that malachite isn't especially durable in comparison to lapis (the current lapis was a replacement to the original malachite, after it bounced on the bathroom floor once too many times).

After my late husband's death, I had his flat lapis rain re-sized for me, and then lost the ring shown today, at which time I commissioned another jeweler to make me a ring set with an emerald-cut tourmaline, as I had always wanted a ring with a green stone. Shortly after taking delivery of the tourmaline, my current husband found the ring that I lost (today's big bomb of a ring). Hence, three rings.

Chulillo, I do not have an easy way to take full length shots, hence the seated poses.
