HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 2053

I'm hard pressed to see how @Pliny's critique could be seen anything more than what it was: a critique. He gave specifics as to what he did not like, but nowhere did it come off as though he was trying to cut Koala down, in my opinion.

Note: I'll disagree regarding collar stays, especially when they pertain to more casual outfits...with the disclaimer being that most of the shirts I go stay-less with is those that will stay tucked beneath a lapel at all times.

Let's just put on our big boy pants and not victim to the whiny, BAness (kudos if you properly identify the acronym) that is plaguing so much of the world.

One of the nicest grey jacket/navy trew looks I've seen.  But it also highlights why it's a look that has never been popular and really doesn't work. I'm assuming the trews are worsted? .. which odd trews should never be.   It mixes up the levels of formality.  The contrast sleeve buttons work with that tie, I guess, but probably not with any other color.  I would have them changed.

In that case I take back my comment.

Nice look, though I think the donegal tie doesn't quite go with the navy worsted suit.

Thank you for your feedback.

Too casual I guess?

It's not just a casual vs. formal thing.  It's also about texture.

A silk tie is more often a better match for worsteds and a wool tie for woolens and tweeds.

Note “more often,” not “always.”

Cheers,

Ac

I just can't let go of how you treat every forum message as an email or letter correspondence.

You sound like a massive wanker but hey, to each their own.
