Care to offer anything constructive? In which way do you find it dull and lacking in contrast? You see, I'm often confused by the feedback I get here. Three days ago, everyone was saying how much dark colors were my friends, and these were the best fits I'd posted, and they were all dark, fairly low contrast outfits. Yet here, I'm wearing a dark navy jacket, brown pants, and a bright red sweater vest, and it lacks contrast. I'm not mad, you see, just confused.

Also, it's supposed to be a suit of clothing. That is all.

My comment was constructive, but I can elaborate.  Insufficient contrast between top and bottom.    It's hard to tell from your pics, but it looks to me like you're wearing your 'at home' clothes  +  a tie.

So, Navy blue and mid brown donegals are not enough contrast? Would you suggest another color, aside from light gray, that would work here? What are "at home" clothes? You'll have to excuse the general rumpledness. I've been living out of a suitcase for a week and a half, so obviously, I couldn't bring my entire wardrobe with me.

Are some of these posts crossing into the semi-classic menswear thread?

White Linen square would be most apt here.

Pliny and PCK1, birds of the same feather...

What part of @Pliny's feedback wasn't constructive? He gave you concrete and practical advice about the lack of contrast in your outfit. And he told you it would look better if you'd have your clothes pressed and he advised you to use collar stays.

You won't get unanimous feedback, because different people have different interpretations of 'Classic Menswear'.

E.g., Pliny favours high contrast between top and bottom half, others (like me) don't think that so important. Find out what works best for you. With the feedback you've already received in the past, you can conclude that for you a very high contrast will probably not be favourable. It will put emphasis on the wrong part of your physique.

I guess you can work out yourself what 'home clothes' may mean.

We don't all have to give feedback as bluntly as @PCK1 likes to do (though he is more often on point than not), but please don't turn this into an overly politically correct place where we only give each other sweet compliments for fear of hurting our sensitive little souls. If you don't like comments on your outfit, don't post.

Hi gents! I hope you are having lovely days to end this year.

I am not back at work yet, but I dressed up today as I was meeting one of my future coworker: I found a new position and will join an other company in a few weeks.

Which means than meanwhile I can go all-out on peacocking, and then I will have to make sure I don't outdress my new colleagues too much (at the beginning, that is).

Anyway, today was a monochromatic blue outfit. Cufflinks are new.

Congrats on the new job @SYCSYC!
Nice look, though I think the donegal tie doesn't quite go with the navy worsted suit.

Not SF approved but what I'm wearing.

You're allowed to hate this.

But not this:

(Just a detail shot, but that's a navy hopsack blazer, light gray flannels, dark brown AE Strands, and cream silk hank.
