HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 2033

@upr_crust I am usually a big fan of your looks but this one doesn't quite do it for me. I think the suit washes you out too much.
For example, I think you look much better with the top coat on than just the suit.

Another option might have been a higher contrast tie.

I've read that anti-perspirants are linked to Alzheimers. Might have been, disproven, but why risk it, and who cares if you wear an undershirt under a polo anyway? Does anyone actually care that much about it?

I believe that myth is pretty much busted. http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/features/antiperspirant-facts-safety

It does cause yellow pit stains. I use gold bond in conjunction with a aluminum free deodorant. Works fine.

Well, I suppose that's good. But still, who gives a shit if someone wears a t-shirt under a polo?

Regardless, they don't work well, make you clammy, smell of cheap fragrances, stain clothing, and are the hygiene equivalent of Marlboro cigarettes.

There are numerous excellent paste-based natural deodorants that don't smell like a bucket of Lysol.

The correlation between aluminum and breast cancer is only a correlation. More controlled longitudinal studies need to be done on that.

I don't really care to be honest, I was half joking in my original post. It just seems so counter-intuitive to me. I'ts hot so I'll put a second layer of cotton on that soaks up sweat, stays wet and stops the outer layer from breathing. I understand it's very much an American thing to do though. Personally when it's hot (its 36 degrees now/98f) I'd rather have a looser open weaved fabric that lets the air through than a t-shirt type closed weave cotton under the top I've already got on.

Not an American thing. Even as a strident supporter of undershirts I wouldn't wear with a polo shirt. I wear pretty gauzy polo shirts, though.

Anyway, I am really glad that we are back to the undershirt discussion. I can only go about two months without discussing undershirts before I start to eagerly anticipate the next one.

I don't see people wearing polos a lot in LA.  However, when I do they are never wearing undershirts with them. I would not wear an undershirt with a polo, personally.  Maybe it's like a frat boy thing or something.

I think we all fell victim to spam.

I was talking about long sleeve polos, btw. Last time I wore a short sleeved polo shirt (the ones with the abhorrent thinly knitted collar) was age 5.

If you're here for people's opinions then I can say that the look is good but the watchband kills the whole look, imo.
