Not so fast, young man. It seems that you've had something of a misadventure with a suit from Tom Ford (based on the structure of the shoulders, the size of the peak lapels, and the very slimness of the jacket). If you're considering buying said suit from a consignment shop, one assumes that you would have the sides let out a bit, and the trousers shortened. As for the tie, one duly notes that it's VERY WIDE - all of a piece for whichever year Mr. Ford put these pieces out for sale to the public, but perhaps not a look that will stand the test of time for very long (and, at Tom Ford prices, that might well be a consideration for ordinary mortals).

Not quiet Tom Ford. wink.gif I do have two Tom ford suits. Ones a beautiful light grey three rolled two and a peak lapel charcoal three piece. This was a picture from a while back after I returned to the shop from cancer treatments. The waist has been adjusted and the pants have been shortened.

Well, you know what you like.  It looks like your tailor did a good job mimicking Tom Ford.  Fooled me.

Thanks. I'm quiet young (25) and wanted something a bit more colorful then what was available. Better photos if how it actually fits with the vest.

@Seamless, nice look but I am especially intrigued by your shoes. Can you please share a closeup and details.

Thanks,

Nice suit!!! Where can I get it?!

Late to the thesaurus and misuage of words conversation, but I hate the word credit when used in credit card. It is debt.

I also hate it when bank tellers say this fee will be credited back to the account. To an accountant, the word credit tells me a deduction to an asset (my account) when used in that case.

Just my dumb post of the day as I take my 15 min bathroom break.

Not so sure about those socks @Academic2 . Else this is fine-fine, but cream shirt would have been better. Blue tie is nice, but rust would have been more harmonious.
Not often seen the waistcoat with flaps.

After some (large) absence here, I come back here and see that your enthusiasm for clothes and good taste remains the same. And though you don't follow the year fashion you keep elegant, always looking like a gentleman that you certainly are. I congratulate you as always. Good to see that still are gentlemen holding the old school phlegm slayer:icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

It is delightful to see you back posting, Lisbon, and even more delightful to re-connect, as I expect that I (and my husband) will be in Lisbon in mid-February 2016 for a visit, as neither of us has ever been to that lovely city.

Thank you for the compliments as well, though I am unsure exactly what a "phlegm slayer" is - I would have thought that to be a cough drop smile.gifsatisfied.gif

My friend,

The "slayer" was I didn't wrote but the keyboard itself decided to take part of our conversation. What I meant was that you are keeping your well known almost british phlegm

Thanks.

Respectfully disagree about the socks.  It's a suit, not an odd jacket, and as such the tradition is to match the socks as closely as possible to the trousers (the idea being to extend the 'line'); this is a very 'countrified' tweed suit, hence the flecked socks in a close-to-matching brown.  Shirt actually is cream, although, again, white would be fine in my opinion.

Cheers,

Ac

Who made that suit? It's lovely, the seven buttons on the waistcoat is a nice touch.

I could say that it is a perfect ensemble, though I (may be) not choose a plain tie. A little boldness would be welcome, when I imagine myself wearing the whole thing. Preety good, though.

Cheers
