Thanks. I thought that may be the case, but wondered if vintage coats were just styled that way. Oh well. 

Usually they can be let out, though, so the coat isn't a loss, as long as you don't mind paying for a bit of tailoring. Probably $30.

Thank you, Yonkle. The brand of watch is called Royal London, and is a modern mechanical watch. It was a present, and I do not believe that it was expensive, but it allowed me to wear the vintage watch chain that I inherited from my father with something soild to anchor the chain at one end. (Previously, I had a modern quartz watch on the end of the chain - smaller and thinner, with a plainer case.).
