I'm not proposing that a buttondown collar is the only solution. The point is that spread collars are by nature more formal. They should not be rumpled, ever. There is no issue pairing them with a tweed jacket, but doing so does not make wrinkling any more permissible. In short, the collar looks bad on its own--a more casual ensemble does not mitigate.

I would prefer a different shirt collar because its a tweed jacket. The current collar screams urbanity and clashes with the country styling.

Jacket fit looks ok to me.

I prefer to see more shirt cuff...but everyone seems to fight back against this when criticized for it. It's really looks better when a bit more shirt cuff is seen...this is the single easiest alteration...i think people generally are too lazy and too cheap to take the jacket for altering...and so they all cry out that it is "subjective" or "preference". It's not...its black and white. Looks good or looks bad.

Agreed. A "solid" effort should be a starting point, not a goal.

Leaving aside the issue of purple shirts as a general matter, it is nonetheless the case that a more purple tone is a more urban/contemporary coloring. It is at odds with the rest of Sugarbutch's more casual, country-oriented outfit.

Understanding details and context is critical.

Roped and striped. Waiting for a delivery of flannels from Luxire that will up my trouser game. Tired of these tight fitting flannels.

Fit aside, this is "solid." However, contrasting the tie and jacket texture is key, as they are both navy, and not accomplished here. A finer textured tie with a sheen would have been better. Also, tie would be nicer in a darker, inkier blue.

Apropos the cuff preference conversation, this shirt (or jacket) shows a bit more than my ideal amount.

@Dennis Walter awesome suit. I'm intrigued by the low buttoning point of the vest. Almost appears to be a 2 piece suit.

Thank you for your input. I was going for shades of blue instead of contrast here. The jacket is royal blue and the tie is navy (wool/silk) and has a slight sheen. Very subtle. It's hard to capture this on an Iphone...

Which, the green one? Yes that's probably the most far out tie I have. I post pictures of it just to annoy StyFo peeps. :)

Fair enough. What would Foo do?

Although Foo's critiques come off a bit hard-nosed, I find them informative. It also opens up a dialogue - even though not everyone agrees with eachother.
