HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014) - Page 1883

Definition of classic SF battle: people suggesting that well justified opinions are the same as things facts

And that is the problem here.

A lionised SF member trots out a few remarks and people are in a tizzy.

Toss in an igent idol's say on the matter...oh, yeah!  In the same vein, another igent idol (Flusser) prefers .5 inches btw and pandemonium ensues.

Even if it the shirt is pale purple so what? And this is speaking as someone whose shirt wardrobe is 85% solid very pale-blue.  SF's phobia of the colour purple is asinine, provincial and shows  a hollow understanding of colours.

Carry on!

So, um, yeah. Although the picture suggests that only a sliver of cuff is visible, the reality is that about half an inch shows beyond the jacket sleeve. Maybe a little more. At various points during the day, a lot more. *shrug*

I am particularly amused by the implication that I am too lazy to have my jacket sleeves altered.

A casual Thursday for me today. Got my jacket back from the tailors yesterday so felt compelled to wear it today. It's charcoal with light grey and wine checks but I'm not sure the iphone does it justice. Have a great day everyone.

LOL, this discussion reads like that of a cluster of colourblind hedgehogs... in a bag.

Roped and striped. Waiting for a delivery of flannels from Luxire that will up my trouser game. Tired of these tight fitting flannels.

My guess is that you might have centimetres and inches mixed up. I have never seen anyone wearing Liverano (including Liverano himself) with as much as an inch of sleeve showing.

Typical Liverano fit:

On my monitor, the blue doesn't look purplish at all. I'd say it's an acceptable shade here, though I'd have preferred a somewhat less pale blue.

What if the shirt was indeed lilac? Not acceptable? Lolz

The only thing I feel is out of place is the pocket square the rest of the criticism is misplaced in my opinion

My point was that all of Foo's observations were wrong. With the exception of the hank, indeed.

Cashmere tie.  Would have gone with a different watch in retrospect.

The rains have passed, and it is to be a relatively warm and pleasant day today in NYC. I am attending the members' preview of the Frank Stella retrospective at the Whitney this evening, which has given me license to overdress, as any event at the Whitney brings out a wide variety of "costumes". (Next year's Biennial should be a blow-out - the art is always questionable, but the people-watching is always awesome.)

Suit and braces - New & Lingwood
Shirt - BB
Tie - Charvet
Vintage watch chain
Cufflinks - Niletti Creations, NYC
Shoes - Florsheim Royal Imperial
Hat - Selentino, via JJ Hat Center, NYC

The last looks great, @SYCSYC - nice shape, neither too pointy nor too round.

There is nothing i don´t love in this fit - killer get-up, @An Acute Style

I will not jump in on the discussion of @sugarbutch´s fit from the other day - while there might be some things to discuss, it was not nearly as bad as described by The Foo. I enjoyed the ensuing discussion though and popped some Popcorn while browsing through the arguments. Thanx, gentlemen!

Rolling in my new MTM grey charcoal 3pc today...
