The knot is ok although it looks like the tie needs to be pulled down more so the knot is tighter. I have more of an issue with the width of the tie (too slim) and how short the collar points are on the shirt.

For some reason, I am really drawn to that fabric @Sander. What is it? The crispness of the pinstripe, and that color of blue, are nothing short of intoxicating.

Your comrade @Braddock has a similar suit, no? Same fabric?

Wow @VictorSFreturn I love those trousers! Look fantastic. Your fit today is very good. What is the waistcoat made of? Corduroy? I can't see if it is that or brown velvet.

A couple of days ago I was fortunate to have the chance to visit the classic menswear store Al Bazar in Milano, and it’s legendary owner Lino Ieluzzi (and his excellent staff, not least Gianpaolo who helped me around the store). Since Lino’s trademark is the double breasted jacket, I took the opportunity to get my first double breasted myself as well as a tie with the signature lucky number 7 embroidered.

Jacket: Al Bazar house brand

Shirt: Isaia

Tie: Petronius (for Al Bazar)

PS: Al Bazar

Pants: Boss

Shoes (Allen Edmonds

OK, because you are improving so quickly, and clearly committed, I'm going to be harsh.

This is a bold statement, and could actually work well for an outfitter's publicity photoshoot. But it doesn't cut the mustard in the real world.

Why? Because the colour palette is too simplistic. Just red and lilac. Striking, yes. But also kind of jarring. Draws attention to itself. You need more subtlety. Try swapping out the tie, or the trousers - they are too close to each other, and both of them being major elements, it's just too much on the eye.

Fit is good, maybe even great. Textures are nice. Colours need more subtlety. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Very helpful, and not at all harsh, in my opinion. I'm glad to say I at least thought about this before choosing the tie. I almost with with a brown knit instead and the main reason was how close the tie was to the trew in color.

Thank you. The fabric of the waistcoat is velvet.

Don, this is among the best of your odd-jacket combinations. It retains your personality but coheres much better, like your suit fits.

@VictorSFreturn

I love the jacket and am looking to get something similar made up - could you share details of the fabric?

That's a lovely jacket, SVB. I wish the sweater weren't quite so long, though. And not worn with a tie.
